Hi Verity,  I love reading your food posts....simple, clean & lots of nutrional value...I hope just to be able to follow your food plan, but who knows what I will be able to tolerate...do you use a food  program to log it in?

Hi Carol,

SO Glad to hear that you enjoy my posts  :))

I try to include Brand, quantity and amount details as much as I can, although a lot of people
don't...I always find that frustrating...grrrrr LOL  (I am a detail-orientated person....srry just
can't help it!  LOL)

I track my foods on MFP (My Fitness Pal) which gives all the pertinent counts.  Every Fri or
Sat, I make up my menus for the week.  I started out just doing a few days at a time but, it's
much better and easier (for me) to do a whole week.  Sometimes, I have to "tweak" a menu depending on my schedule.

Initially, it takes a bit of time to build your "database" but, once it's done, you can create a
menu quite fast.  There are other tracking programs but, I find MFP the easiest for me.

I see you are having your surgery in Jan.....RNY or VSG?  I am very glad I had the VSG...
....much less invasive with fewer complications and, I can take NSAIDS for my Osteo-
Arthritis.

Any more info you'd like, just let me know.  I have received such great support from other
people on here and am happy to "pay it forward"!

Verity  :))

thanks for the info...the doc has recommended a vsg due to nsadis & a mesh hernia repair he might not be able to work around for a rny....although I was pretty insistent on a rny...he was going to see what he can do...so tell me if the arthritis gets better?  I was hoping to get off those meds.  I am 56 & have been on nsaids for 36 yrs...blah...

I think you will be happy with the VSG....I know I AM!!  As with any WLS, you only get out of it, what you put into it!  It's not that the OA gets better....it's that it doesn't get WORSE (without the benefit of NSAIDS)  I have been on 200mg daily of Celebrex for 20+ (of my 66 years) and am a total cripple without it!   My Brother had RNY this year and is a mess of complications....other ppl have
bowel/intestinal probs too, even after 5+ years.  I researched all this extensively for 2 years and
don't regret AT ALL my "choice" for the VSG.

You CAN do this...it WILL work for you....just work your TOOL!!!  I am estatic with my new lifestyle
and can't wait until I am at goal....it's really a very exciting journey  : ))

Wishing you the Best of luck.....looking forward to hearing how you're doing !

Bad migraine day so I'm trying to get in what I can... (I miss my NSAIDS on days like this)

Cereal stayed down, working on a tea now. I will try for tuna and maybe slices of tomato for lunch, dinner is hopefully going to be left over chili.

I am baking pies (pumpkin, lemon meringue, and gluten free devils chocolate pumpkin cupcakes) plus prepping veggies for tomorrow...

Wish me luck

If I don't get any snacks today I don't think it will kill me... If I get all 3 meals in that will be a miracle I don't usually eat because of the nausea from the migraines

I want my bed!

Afternoon all :)

Uh... who the heck messed up my OH experience?! Good gawd, I'm lost.  And smilies aren't working. *pout*  Just got in from having lunch with my Mom - that lady can be a real hoot, what a great time we had. Bryan got us breakfast this morning - he's still not quite sure about this WLS eating thing, but he's trying. lol  Oh!  And I got up the nerve to show him my before pics last night.  The look on his face was priceless.  "That woman is NOT you."  "Yes it is.  I mean, was."  Then he kissed me and congratulated me.  End of conversation.  *swoon* Good answer, Little Scottish Boy.
