Number of Appointments - St. Joseph Hamilton
I just recently found this site and it's been so helpful. I was told I have two more appointments to go before my surgery - here's what I've done so far in order: Orientation, Blood Work, Dietician, Social Worker, Endoscopy, Internist, and I met with Surgeon on November 28th.
What's left other than the surgery date?

Referral:April 4th, 2012.Letter Received for Orientation:June 4th, 2012.Orientation: Sept. 24th, 2012. Blood Work: Dec 14th, 2012. Dietician: January 30th, 2013. ECG Done: January 30th, 2013 Gastroscopy: Feb. 5th, 2013. Social Worker: Feb. 8th, 2013(Canceled, due to snow storm). Abdominal Ultrasound: Feb. 12th, 2013. Surgeons Appt. Feb. 20th, 2013. Social Worker(Rescheduled): Feb. 25th, 2013. Internist: March 4th, 2013. Meet the Surgeon: March 12th, 2013.No Sleep Test Needed. Opti Started: July 16 - 30, 2013.Nutrition Class: July 18th, 2013. PATTS: July 19th, 2013 Surgery: August 2nd, 2013.
U will have your pre op with a nurse and anisticiologist (sp) and then there is a class just before surg (similar to the orientation) once again running threw the procedure step by step going threw your book to follow and ask any questions. With the dietician and nurse i believe.

Looks like different centres have different methods and I guess varying degrees based on medical history...
I know as im at TWH...its Orientation, Social Worker, Clinical Nurse, Group Nutrition, Psychologist, and Dietician then Surgeon (Sleep Apnea if needed)
I personally did not need sleep apnea but will complete dietician and psychologist this month and then see surgeon...
However my cousin is at HRRH and they only have 3 appointments he said and after surgery a nutrition class?
He picks up opti next week.....
