Losing my hair :(
Mass amounts. Even eyebrows?
I don't know how I can fix this. I know we are suppose to consume alot of protein but sadly my pouch hates it and it normally doesn't stay long. I have tried many different protein drinks and even a nasty powder to add into my food. I'm starting to think my issue with protein is all mental?
I just don't want to be bald.
I havent had an easy go with this operation and have had many hospitalizations. They are aware of the protein issue and encourage me to eat more but understand that eating anything (within reason) is better then nothing at all. Most recently I lost my gallbladder on March 10th my liver isn't happy with blood tests reading high enzymes and ultrasound reading there is fluid around it? The doctors are hopeful that its all from the gallbladder removal and should sort itself out.
I'm really starting to miss my hair...
1. you cannot prevent your hair from falling out at this stage. All you can do is promote hair growth. the loss you're seeing is in response to the trauma of the surgery and the following less nutrition. Nothing you can do to prevent it from happening.
2. Nothing you put ON your hair will help it. Taking supplements, like zinc or biotin, or whatever, will promote regrowth.
3. Your issue with protein could be mental.
4. do you have issues with "natural" proteins? eggs, meat, cheese, dairy?
I'm losing mine too. I decided to chop it into a short haircut to give it more body and minimize the loss through brushing (hardly needs to be brushed at all now) and heat styling.
But there's nothing you can do about losing your hair - that's just the way it is, unfortunately. I'm refusing to get sucked in by products that claim to stop your hair falling out or to grow faster - I spend enough on the stuff I really need to be healthy after WLS. Just keeping my protein at appropriate levels and waiting it out - it eventually grows back.

sorry you had to go through this. You system had a major blow with 2 surgeries so close together - that last gallbladder removal could have put your hair "over the edge" in regards to stress to your body. And your liver enzymes are not very happy - so that does not help either.
I take Biotin - and I do feel that is helps. I cannot take zinc since it does cause major constipation with some people. (including me. LOL)
What Monica is saying ti 100% correct and I was going to say the same thing. I also have periods where certain proteins "just sit in my stomach". But I am ok with eggs - and you can also try egg whites (no cholesterol... and that is nice.) Easy to make soft scrambled (white) eggs with that - add some low fat cheese.. that is a lot of protein. Also what works for me is lean ground beef with a bit of home made tomato sauce - and that has a tone of protein in it.
Did you try to go to Popeye already? They will allow you to try the protein powders and I do find that helpful. I take BioX all natural isolate chocolate. And it is good. See if you can find one that you like at the store.
Hope you can sort it out - it looks that you are trying very hard! Don't give up.
And.. your hair will come back - but I hear you ... it is a bitc,,,,.... right now

Just like they said! For Greek yogurt i put in frozen blueberries (or strawberries) and a bit of granola for the crunch! with a bit of sweetener too...I too have lost a lot of hair, and I had thin hair to begin with! I can see my scalp on the front and probably top, but i can also see little baby hairs growing in too! We just have to ride this bump out and do whatever we can to try and stop it, but it will pass!
