Hey all long time no see, quick update I have the most amazing friends who helped us find a new place to live, helped us move in there a friend kept bella for three weeks , another friend kept us for three weeks and we got to officially move into the apartment yesterday. Thanks to every single one of you who has helped us so much in the last three months. Quick question I have a friend who spent some time in the sun this past week and has developed quite the sunburn. This burn continues to get worse, she has tried aloe vera a couple of times and the pain is tolerable. Her skin is very warm to the touch. She is on Risperidol which makes her sensitive to the sun causing photosensitivity. However in my training I haven't seen a sunburn worsen with time when the individual is not being exposed to the sun She has been covering up and her skin continues to feel unusually warm. Does GBS make us even more senstive to the sun, If so is there a remedy for this and have any of the rest of you experienced anything like this. I may not reply right away as until Friday I will have limited internet access. Thank's so much I hope you are all doing well.

I've had reactions to the sun ever since my surgery (VBG) in 2001. I get welts/hives - I have to be really careful to NOT get burnt, because then it's even worse. I always sort of assumed it was from the surgery, as I didn't have it beforehand, but obviously I can't know that for sure. I'll be interested in hearing what others have to say on the matter as well.

I am no more sensitive to the sun now then I was before...but a sunburn is a burn and burns will continue to "cook" you well after you are out of the sun....

If it is bad or getting worse she probably needs to go see her dr.  especially if it is blistering.... if its hot to the touch that is kinda normal... cool shower lots of aloe vera and cover up until its healed.

I would be phoning the Drs. office.  It is better to be safe than sorry.
