Before pictures
Need some advice - my friend and another OH mbr and I are getting pictures done for our "before" and I am wonder what do you think we should wear? I am not really a person that loves to have her picture taken...so I am not totally sure? white tshirt and jeans? or ? Our surgeries are July 3 and July 25 :)
I looked at so many before and afters. I think the ones that really show progress is where you wear the same clothing and do front side and back photos every month. I took mine like that the night before my surgery. I also (blush) took my own nude photos the day I got home, omg I cried. First looking at the bruises and the size, omg, I was so upset. Those I will never ever show anyone, but I sure as hell will never ever look like that again.
I plan to take pics in the same clothes every month. (I did side, front and back shots too)
I only wish I would have taken then pre-opti instead of the night before surgery

The only thing I would suggest not to wear is black.
In 'before' pictures where people wear black and then they wear a lighter colour in the after' they almost look smaller in the before shots.
For your own personal private pics I would take them naked or in your underwear.
I wish I would have taken a video of myself moving around. When I was walking my legs used to rub together and by butt used to feel like it was touching my back. Sometimes I would like to remember more of what it was like to be overweight.
Both of these are great suggestions -- don't wear black, and taking a video. A video, particularly, shows how our posture changes, and that's a significant difference.
I had made a list pre-surgery, and kept adding to it the longer it took for surgery, of all the negative experiences and thoughts I was going through/thinking, being super obese.
I had a reminder this past Monday at our TOPS meeting -- we were discussing our favourite board/card games and I talked about how I really like euchre and play in tournaments when I can. Two years ago I was at a friend's house, when the chair I was sitting in collapsed under me. I shared with the group how humiliating (and painful, physically) that was. It was such a strong reminder of how I used to feel, and how much better, even just four and half months postop, I am.
Your pre-op photos are a great idea, however you decide to do it.
And, oh yes, definitely pre-OptiFast, too. :)
Best wishes -- you're going to do so well!
