Appointment with internist?

So on the same day as my pre-op class here in Ottawa I have another appointment with an internist. I am seeing him/her because I had a stress test that was inconclusive because of my asthma and now have to do a different kind of test. Has anyone else seen an internist? Any idea what I can expect?

Thanks!

Hi,

I saw an internist because of my pre-op rapid pulse (105+at rest and 135 when I was very nervous).  The internist talked to me a little,  listened to my heart and did another EKG.

If you can't do the most common type of stress test - the treadmill one, there are others she/he may order - http://www.webmd.com/heart-disease/guide/stress-test--%28dup e%29

Good Luck!

Jenn.  :)

 1st appointment - Feb. 23rd, 2012. RNY Dr Cyriac Mar. 11th, 2013.

Yes, it's all part of the process.   They manage us through the internist (my Dr. Shau is the wife of the cardiologist who did my eventual angiogram in October last year).

The Weight Management Clinic takes *very* good care of our medical needs -- yes, it takes longer, but in hindsight I am so glad it was done the way it was.

*laugh*  I have told my family that if I suddenly drop dead, call in the CSI (Forensic Criminal types, because I have *proof* after four separate tests that I didn't have a heart problem.  *laugh*

It's going to be fine ... feel free to keep on asking the questions you need to ask to get your mind around all of this.   I have pages of posts I made, just on this very subject.

Have a great weekend -- it's going to happen.  :)
