Huzzah! Got my surgeon appointment!
Hey gang!
Well, it's been a tough year but the good news is finally rolling in! I got my surgeon appointment date with Dr. Urbach at TWH on March 28th! I had picture perfect Endoscopy/Colonoscopy results (the best in 10 years) and a productive appointment with the psychologist on the 25th, despite my worrying. I guess that everyone worries in their last few steps - what if they don't approve me! etc. I'm just so happy that I KNOW it's going to happen now, and hopefully before long!
Thank-you to everyone on this board who continue to offer advice, support and most of all the glimpses into their inner selves. I applaud everyone for their candor and emotional openness. It is SO not easy struggling with the most visible addiction one can have: FOOD! I am so excited to begin this journey, learn to use my tool and change my life for the better.
My biggest supporter, my stepmom, Carol, is doing a happy dance for me somewhere in the universe! Oh how I wish I could share this news with her. xoxox

Congrats!!!!! Carol knows & she will be with you in your journey, the same way my late father was with me. Even though we can't see or hug them, I firmly believe they are still with us

Hurray!!! The end is in sight :) I'm so glad you made it through the psych appointment - it's definitely a load off once that final step is done and you know you're approved! The surgeon's appointment was the most exciting part for me, it really made it feel real at that point. A few more weeks and you'll have your surgery date, be picking up your Opti... The ball is rolling!
Carol is definitely doing a happy dance for you, and will be there with you every step of the way to encourage and protect you. You'll do awesome! Your life will for sure change for the better - I can't even count all the ways my life has flipped upside down for good things to rain down on me :D
Yay, thanks Katie! The psych appt was making me antsy, because of course she had to consider the timing with everything that has happened to me lately. But I just calmly pled my case: that this was what Carol wanted for me, as my biggest cheerleader; that I am already taking time to look inward and examine the issues around my eating and feelings; that I'm already in a flux with work, and waiting longer just means I would have had to stop whatever new thing I would be doing. So I guess I made my point!
It's been a long trek, but it has been so much easier having people to talk to, especially you, Katie, and to see your journey! I am rooting for you and hope you continue to have the best things happen for you!
