Mornin all!

Today is my volunteer Orientation at the hospital.  I will do that about three times a week.  I am excited.  It is so cool when desires of one's heart gets met.  I have always wanted to be at home, do volunteer work and still get some kind of income.  I put in 25 hard years on my job and, yes, it left me with a hand that does't work right and is painful, but that's ok.  Next week, we start our new support group at the hospital!  Yippeeee!  Tomorrow I talk to the homeschool folks that meet at our church about starting some movement to Irish music classes for them.  I'm so excited!

Clueless about weight loss and weight loss surgery of any kind.

Good Morning all.

I am up and will head to the hospital for my bi-weekly NST. Then head to work. Today I work till 5. Then it's home to do the mundane.......laundry, dishes, dinner and the only fun part.....play with the kids! LOL

I am happy the week is coming to an end. I am ready for the weekend. I am so tired. Janzen thinks my uterus is a trampoline of sorts and has me up alot through the night. Also Braxton Hicks have kicked in this last week and well, it's just not fun!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Stay warm.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

Jo can probably explain it better (or correct me if I am totally wrong on this, but I believe it is a nonstress test which has to do with counting the babies movements and heart beats and so forth....

It's still cold out there.. I hope it starts to warm up like they say it will.

Today has me going to fill out an APPLICATION at an apartment.  I found the one I want, now I just need to be approved.  It is in Whitehall and I would be a complete fool if I didn't jump on the deal they are offering.   So keep your fingers crossed that my credit doesn't suck that bad and that my income is high enough to make up for the suckiness so I can be approved.

After that,  I have my follow up with the surgeon.  WOO HOO!!! Then, I can attempt some sort of solid/soft food.  I am not sure what would be best to start out on. Any ideas on that? I was thinking maybe ricotta since it is not a "solid" and should go down easy.  I took out a turkey steak thing from the freezer that I was hoping we could try for dinner. I know I will only be able to take a few bites,  but it should taste really good!

Tonight is Thursday, so that means bingo.   I didn't go last week since I was still on the drugs, but I am looking forward to being around friends tonight and getting to play.

Other than that, after the doc, I am going to pick up more boxes and packing tape and slowly start packing up my belongings.  I will  take it easy, I PROMISE!! Cross my heart. LOL

Stay warm and cross your fingers for me!

Good luck with the solids!!! You might want to try soft things first - yogurts, ricotta, pudding, cottage cheese. Be careful if you do try the turkey - many find chicken/turkey hard to eat early out as it can be very dry, I would suggest some kind of gravy/sauce with it. ENJOY!!!!

I would agree with the idea of cottage or ricotta cheese.  And only a few teaspoons and see how you do.  I would be hesitant to try the turkey - but that's just me.  Perhaps something like a chicken soup would be better (I would stay away from the noodles this early out, too, though) as you can almost guarantee the chicken is moist and soft enough.  Good luck and enjoy it.  Remember to chew as if you've never chewed before.  Even when you think you are done chewing - chew!

thanks girls.. Doc told me to try egg so I am working on that now.  I soft boiled it to see how that works out.  The turkey isn't really turkey like Thanksgiving turkey. It's like a ham steak, but turkey.  I'll see what happens with a bite or two.  I stopped at Giant on the way home and picked up ricotta, fage and some fishy stuff.  His general rule is if it swims or flies, it is worth trying.  We'll see.

By the way, per his scale, I lost 21 lbs since I started seeing hime.  On my scale, I lost 25 since my heaviest ever!!! WOO HOO!! He was very pleased with my healing and weight loss and wants me to lose at least 15lbs by my next appt which is April 2.  That is definitely doable!
