Do it when you have your period next if you are worried about it - when you start a new pack start at night.

I was on the NuvaRing for a long long time after surgery, mainly because absorption wasn't an issue since it's not taken orally.  I've switched over to Yaz for the benefits of the PMDD, which I happen to have a terrible case of   but I was very pleased with the Nuva Ring and it was really easy to use, it was also my only source of birth control and I never had an issue.  Just a suggestion.  Good luck

I think i did try the NuvaRing before but my partner could feel it lol. I think i thought i was to weird haha but maybe i will go back to that because of not absorbing the bc. Because no babies over here!!!

I've heard some people say that as well... My sister in law was told by her OBGYN that she could take hers out during sex and rinse it off in warm water and put it back in.  As long as it's not out for more then 3 or 4 hours it doesn't loose any of it's effectiveness.  I might be wrong but I believe I read it in the information packet they give you with the ring as well.

Well thanks Pam... I've been working hard with a nutritionist and personal trainer.. hitting the gym at least 4 times a week and I've lost 8 lbs of the 25lbs I've set out to lose..... Regardless of that, eating right and really truly taking care of myself is making me feel amazing!  Thanks so much for taking the time to say something

My OB only allows 3 different birth control ways if you have had gastric bypass... nuva ring, depo shot, and IUD- like merena... because the pill doesn't work... I was on the depo shot for almost 2 years (a year after my daughter and then another year after surgery...) and then switched to the nuva ring... but I kept getting sick so stopped using it because of being on antibotics for almost 3ms straight... and guess what... got pregnant lol... but I was 18 months out...

So, I would switch off the pill period and get something better than the pill...

Yes thats what i have been hearing that the pill doesnt work, i called my surgeons office and talked to the PA and she told me that the pill is so tiny that it does work and it is absorbed but umm hell with that lol i am not taking any chances so i couldnt take the nauseasness anymore so i called my OB and they told me to stop the pill i was on and i go to see them on FRI morning to talk about other options. I think i am l leaning toward the nuva ring
