lack of water...

Hi all,

I just am wondering if anyone else has issues drinking all the liquids that are required? When I had the diarrea issues the PA took me off all dairy and told me to get in 80!!!ounces a day!
I know I am not drinking enough, and I don't know how to remind myself to drink.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.....I actually thought of trying a timer of some type that would signal every 5 minutes..
I really doubt that I am even getting 50oz of water a day.
I am about 5 weeks out, and see Dr. Urbandt Thursday, I know they will ask.

Thanks!
Joanne

I keep a water bottle with me at all times.  I get a refillable one and use a Brita filter system in my fridge.  If the taste is unappealing, I add some flavor.  I also brew decaf iced tea and that counts as water.  I sweeten with Splenda and use a little lemon juice.  I just keep these with me and sip, sip, sip.

I have a water bottle with me everywhere I go. It is amazing how much you can drink when you have that bottle by your side. Get a sport bottle of some type that has the measurements on the side of it. You can then make sure that you are getting the right amoun****er is sooo important especially with the hot weather. IMO, it is also very filling and keeps me from getting hungry.

Thanks all,

I do keep water with me at all times,  In my purse, in the car, on my desk, by my bed.   I primarily drink flavorsplash that I have watered down cause its expensive, decaf iced tea, and crystal light lemonade. I really can't stand water, I might add lemon or lime and sometimes splenda.  I just get so busy or distracted, and then it's like ooo I haven't had a drink in a while....and then by evening I really realize how short on fluids I am and don't want to drink cause then I will be up all night, tripping my way to the bathroom. Thanks for the ideas, with the measuring.

You fluids are SUPER important! I ifnd it is just "making" the habit to drink. Set time limits, have 1 bottle down by 9 am, 2nd by lunch time etc. Divide your day up so that you can have a schedule for drinking, before you know it it will be habit.

Good luck!

Liz

PS - I get in about 100oz a day now without even thinking about it

Thanks everyone.

I made a conscience effort today and did much better.  Still not the required amount but better.  I will use a little of everyone's advice.  I really like the idea of setting deadlines, and timer for the deadlines.

Thanks!
Joanne
