Today is... for Cleo's Mom (Susan)
Today, June 18th, is Susan's TWO YEAR SURGIVERSARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Susan has been around us for more than two years. She and her husband Norm have been good friends and supporters for soooooo many of us. Susan has done wonderfullly in her own journey. She has gone through many rounds of plastics successfullly with Dr. Lam and stepped in more than a year ago to handle a vacancy in our pre-op meeting as a support group leader. She joined us last November as a leader when we started the Barix 1st Saturday support group meetings and she is always around to lend a hand, visit a patient right after surgery, help a patient or a friend in need (like she did with My Beth when she had a kidney stone), exchange/share clothing, have her support group meetings/dinners at her home, and serve as the matriarch of the 'Mean Girl' group. That group of 10 women who made a pact to keep each other on track with their journeys', even if they have to "get mean" sometimes. They do this out of love for one another so they are not 'mean' at all.
Please join me in celebrating and congratulating this milestone with Susan.
Susan may the successing never end.

Susan,
As the first support leader I ever met at Barix, you made quite an impression on me! I felt so welcomed! And I really appreciated that you took the time out of your busy life to visit me after surgery even though you didn't know me very well. Both speak to how generous you are.
Thank you and congratulations on your well-earned success!
