Well I have a few things I wanted to mention...One is did anyone else get flushed in the face when taking your pain meds you had to take? Another is when your home and sipping water, broth, or your protein......how often did you sip? I find myself constantly sipping..is that okay? I take like a few sips...then stop for a min then sips some more and stop...should I only be sippin once then stopping...and thats it or a few sips and stop like I am doing? I mean it may seem silly but I do not want to over do it and I have water, protein shake, and broth next to me and im sippin off all three of them at the moment. I have my variety next to me and when the broth gets cold I warm it back up. However I am must sipping off them here and there..yesterday it took me 3 hours to get down 8 oz of broth. I got down 32 oz of water in 12 hours. working on my second 32 oz..today..I am just praying that I can get some of my protein in today. I have 5 meds to take still and well 3 of them have to be takin in the morning...I just took the 3 and well I feel full now and bloated. I still have to chew my vitamin and work in my fluids.  How far apart do u take your meds?wq

Dee you are doing great - sip away as much as you can!!

As far as the meds space them out - thats what I had to do early out. Take 1 an hour if you have to throughout the day.

Keep up the good work!

Sounds like you are right on target.  You go!!!  The constant sipping is good and will help you so much.  I did the same thing early out -- kep****er, protein, and broth right next to me, because I would change my mind every minute about which one I wanted!  And I agree with Liz -- space the meds out.  I had to do that too in the beginning when my pouch was new and swollen.

So happy for you that you're doing so well!

Denise,

If you are flushing on Lortab it could an allergic reaction. I had a pretty significant reaction to Lortab after surgery....I turned all red and itchy immediately. No more Lortab for me. Percocet does the same thing just not as severe.

Glad you are home and recovering.

If the flushed feeling is temporary then it is just a side effect because the lortab is a narcotic.  Some temporary itching can also be a side effect and not a true allergic reaction to narcotic medication.  If, however, you are red and very itchy for awhile after taking it, then it could be allergen related as Theresa mentioned.  I have a feeling it is just the narcotic side effect you are feeling.

Sipping constantly is good.

The meds...space them out about a half hour or hour in between if you need to.

As far as how far a part I space mine...now I don't really.  I take my centrum, b1, b12 all at once.  The calcium has to be spaced 2 hours minimum from other vitamins so I take that around lunch time.  And then I take my second centrum at night.

You'll get into a groove  it just takes awhile!
