Female issues inside...men beware...

So this is a personal matter.  Being a very private person...this feels strange to even ask...

I think I am getting a yeast infection.  I have never had one before and I am wondering if it may have something to do with the new medications I had to take after surgery...maybe a side effect.  I am off most of the medication I had to take before surgery for my health problems (woohoo!!!) and I am feeling great otherwise.  This is what I am taking daily - my prescribed vitamins, Urso Forte and Lipitor (I think I will go off this next week at my PCP visit (yippee!).

Did anyone else have this problem?

I am not concerned about treating it or anything like that, I am just looking for possible explanations, and if it is a side effect I want to know so I can try to avoid it in the future.

Also, I became Lactose intolerant after surgery so no extra yogurt to help out there

Just FYI: I am a little over 4 months out and I really do well with protein and fluid goals every day.
Thanks for your help.

I would call your PCP it isn't a side effect of surgery (unless you are on an antibiotic now) There are soy yogurts and I would call Dr P and see if you can take an acidophlus (sp?) that should help too!

Hope you are feeling better.

I get a yeast infection almost every time I'm on antibiotics.  Antibiotics kill the good bacteria that keeps yeast at bay.  I would call your PCP, there's a one dose pill you can get and it works miracles.

I get a yeast every month just before my period it started about 5 years ago. I never had the problem before it will last a few days and as soon as I get my period it goes away. It could just be a change that your body is going through. See what you Dr says. Good luck!
