All ready I think...lol
You're going to do just great - you seem very well prepared mentally for this journey and you've stuck it out with complying with the pre-surg plan.
After surgery, the liquid diet will be SO much easier than before surgery, for a few reasons. First, your new pouch will be swollen, so will get full VERY quickly. Second (I'm assuming you're having bypass, right? can't remember - sorry), the nerves in your stomach are cut in the surgery. It will be impossible for them to transmit hunger signals to the brain for quite a while (I'm just now starting to feel it a little bit occasionally) so any "hunger" you feel will be head hunger or gas. Finally, you'll be doing protein loading in your liquid diet, and the protein helps you feel much more satisfied more quickly. So don't worry - I know I was apprehensive about it and that part was a breeze!
We'll be saving you a nice spot on the loser's bench! Congratulations on taking a major step toward health and a new life!

Congratulations - you're almost there!! You're going to do great - don't worry about the pain - its minimal (usually) and there are plenty of good drugs out there to help you thru that - and believe me, you won't be hungry - it'll be all you can do to get tha****er in at first. Caths aren't fun but it won't be in long, and IV's are about the same. You're going to do great!!
