Friday Roll Call

Good morning all!

Well here I sit at work.  Hmph.  My "buddy" (charge nurse who was gonna get me off tonights shift for at least part of it) called out....and in the beginning we were busy so I had no "choice" but to be in regardless of who is in charge...and even when we slowed down...she didn't send anyone home.  I can't blame her  - with the start to the night we couldn't afford to send people home and have it continue.  But I still don't wanna be here right now, LOL

On the way home I am stopping at the food store to p/u a few items.  I am baking a few things for a friends son's bday party on Saturday.  I thought it was just gonna be a simple thing...but it's turned into a little bit more than that.

When I get home I will start the marathon of baking...I hope to be done by early afternoon....while they are baking I plan on napping having hubby watch the timer for me, LOL.

This evening will be my new addiction of watching at least one episode of BSG and then it's FRIDAY which means Eureka is on, too...so hubby and I will watch that together as well.

That's about it from here!

Good Morning Pam!
I love Eureka!!!! Just sitting at the airport getting ready to go to Florida for a week. Working on packing things and getting things ready to move to PA. I have lived here since Dec last year but now the family is moving up.
Will spend the flight reading all the material the Nut gave me yesterday. Weighed in a few pounds lighter then my heaviest weight so I guess my start weight for the program will be 325lbs.

Good morning all I see Pam has turned into Betty Crocker here.  Have fun.  And we have a wandering soul getting ready to go to florida who sounds upbeat. I am wondering how to deal with personal problems which is why I am up so early and decided to keep busy today. Hopefully weather-permiting I will be able to get some horseback riding today depending on how Cassidy is doing. I have come to the conclusion that somewhere out there a job is to be found and I will feel so much better about myself.  Having a hard time dealing with that its depressing and I am trying not to let it get me down.  The old Linda would have done a triple somersalt into a container of chocolate chip ice cream the new one tells herself she has worked too hard to get here. Well everyone have a great day and take care.

Morning..I took the day off because my brain function is not working properly with everything going on with my dad.  Carol said that he talked non-stop yesterday, but most of it was not "appropriate" conversation.  She said that he was comfortable and didn't seem to be in any pain, though, so that is good.

This morning,  I am meeting Rocco at the gym for our weekly workout.  It'll be good to sweat out some of this stress.  Siehara has a 1/2 day today since the Jewish New Year starts tonight.  So, I will be picking her up from school, as well as one of her friends whose parents have to work all day.  I'll take the girls somewhere for lunch and then we are going to buy the things she needs for dance.  Then, depending on what they want to do, we'll either come home so they can play or maybe go to the mall for a bit.

Once Maia is picked up, Siehara and I will go spend a few hours with my dad.

This weekend will be spent in synagogue both Saturday and Sunday mornings.  I need to be there by 9:30 tomorrow to meet the babysitter to make sure she knows what/where she needs to be.  Sunday, I need to be there by 9 because they chose me to usher (stand guard to shush people as they come in and help them find seats, if necessary).   Saturday, we were invited to lunch at a congregant's house and then dinner at our friends David and Sarah's house.  (they are also congregants, but also our besties!)

Busy day/weekend ahead, but it is the time for reflection and a new year and I can only pray that this year will be a happy and healthy one for everyone.

Good morning all - have fun baking, Pam - I used to love to bake - don't do much of it anymore.

Today I'm at work for 1/2 day, then heading home for hubby and we're off to the beach for the weekend. Picked my nephew up last night to say with my mom and the dog for the weekend. Felt like I was in my car from the time I left work last night til 9:00 PM. Had to pick up my nephew on the way home, then run him back out to a friends' house to drop of DVD's he had borrowed. Home to pick up mom and take her to the hairdresser. Dropped her off than ran back down 202 to Kohl's to do some shopping for her, only to get to the register and hand them her Kohl's card which she had neglected to sign, so of course they asked for ID which I obviously didn't have since I'm not her (LOL) - so back up 202 to get her from the hairdresser, then back down 202 to Kohl's to take her in to pay for the stuff (I would have paid and let her pay me back but then she would have lost a 30% discount which was substantial on her bill last night). Then we stopped at Target so I could drop off my nephew's insulin script and of course I went in one door and the pharmacy was at the OTHER END OF THE STORE. So needless to say I got lots of walking in - and a whole lot of driving!! Yes, I had a small glass of wine when I got home because I was exhausted (and a tad annoyed).

So anyway, looking forward to a lovely, relaxing weekend with our friends at their beach house. I'll be checking back in on Monday.

Take care - and have a great weekend.

I HATE days like that!  Soooo jealous of the ability to have a glass of wine to unwind - my day will come too!  I hope today is a better day and has a bit of a more relaxed pace for you!

Good morning Pam and everyone!  Pam - I hope the rest of the evening was smooth for you and that you are done work now.

I am sitting in my classroom feeling pretty pleased with the start of the school year so far.  I am still tired - forgetting EVERY YEAR, how exhausting it is to get the body and the brain back into work mode.  However, I am finding that going up and down the steps is not a chore as it once was.

After school today I head right home to get the family ready for a nice Shabbat dinner then off to services for Rosh Hashana.  I have been missing my mom a ton these last few weeks - I always LOVED to tell her about my new students, how the beginning of the school year was and be with her at the start of the Jewish New Year.  Many of you might understand this feeling around Christmas time if you have lost a special person in your life.  The next few weeks as the holidays come fast and furious, 1 about each week for the next month or so, are busy and always incude family - and it still feels soooo empty without her.  I try to keep my spirits up with my own family, however, they are sweet and supporing and give me my space if I need it and a shoulder and hugs when they want it as well.

Tomorrow morning has the family at services at 10:30 - then down the shore for dinner with the in-laws.  Sadly, I think we are spending the night, which means my MIL will EXPECT me to do the things I don't normally do in my house - like cook something.  It has been an ongoing battle with her for years.  Doesn't matter that Larry has explained to her over and over that he enjoys cooking for the family and I enjoy the cleaning up part....Still in her eyes, I am somewhat less than what she is....oh well....Larry and I have a wonderful marriage which works for us - so every now and again,  I just suck it up and keep my mouth shut!  Ahhhhh....family!  (Maybe that is one of the reasons I miss my mom soooooo much this time of year!)

Well...totally didn't mean to go on and on like this - it just started to spew out of my brain and you are all such great listeners! :)  (Or at the very least, I have no idea if you just scroll past this to the next one! :)  HAHAHAHAHAHA)

Have a great Friday and a nice weekend everyone!

L'Shana Tova to all who celebrate! :)
