Suggestion - Recipe Thread

It must be the time of year....quite a few here have been talking about cooking, baking, etc.

Could I suggest taht we have a "perpetual thread" in which recipes are posted? Preferably one reciepe per post, titled with the name of the recipe...I've seen this work in another fourm I have been in for several years.

This would prevent having to search back...and back...and back....to find a particular recipe.

As for me - I went back 40 pages to find the SF barbecue sauce recipe that was posted a while ago, and never did find it. Any chance that anyone can put their hands on it and post again?

Lynn - It's a great idea. A few of us have asked OH to make it "sticky" at the top of the screen but no luck ( I never even got a reply back) since we post so much here unfortunately things get lost quickly. What I do that seems to work for me is copy and paste the recipe in an e-mail then e-mail it to myself. I then have a folder where I store them all.

Hope that this helps!

Oh Karen G. posted  the BBQ sauce recipe - if you click on her and go to "latest posts" that should help you find it a bit quicker

Liz, another question -

I think the "cheesy egg bake" recipe was from one of your cooking class threads. I wondered if the fat content was a little high for me. Can something be substituted for the cream cheese?

yep, that's one of mine. You can either use reduced fat or fat free cream cheese. You can also use egg beaters or egg whites to cut back on some of the fat. DO you need me to re-post that recipe?

harrumph....

Figured I'd try (I know Liz tried in the past...) to get a sticky thread...

Here's what they replied:

Thank you in your interest in doing a sticky post on the message boards.  Unfortunately due to a very large increase in requests for sticky posts about local events and support meetings we are unable to put sticky posts up that are not ObesityHelp announcements anymore.

May we suggest you start your own Recipe group.  Here is the link:  http://www.obesityhelp.com/group/action/start_group/

Hmmm...

Do we need a group? I was just thinking about a thread...if it sat too long, we could intentionally keep it bumped up to the top...

Unfortunately, "bumping" doesn't work on this forum.  Wi**** did - would make life so much easier!

But lemme think - i may have some ideas brewing and will let you know in a day or two...
