~ Manic Monday Roll Call ~

Morning!

We didn't go to bed till one...we were both up at 3...and then the phone rang at 7 which is a whole other rant. It was the freaking MIL (brian is going down there today to do some work on the cars).  Why did she call at 7am?  To tell us it was to early to get up (he had no intentions of going down before noon I might add) so stay in bed.  WTF?!  If it's to early to get up - don't call the house waking us up to tell us that.

Ok...I'm done

Anyway - running to the store in a few mins to pick up my free turkey.  It is a frozen one so it needs to defrost and later in the week (thurs or fri) I plan on making a huge batch of home made turkey stock/broth with it, so it needs to be ready for me!

Then it will be home, get things together for work, and probably back to bed around 1 for a nice nap before heading to the zoo for the next 3 nights.  Good news is I get to look up my labs tonight that I had done on Friday.  I'm very anxious to see if the synthroid and the increase in vitamin D has helped my levels or if I need to change things around more.

Good morning everyone - hope you're feeling better, Mary - sucks your weekend was shot.

My weekend was busy, busy with visitors and cleaning yesterday getting ready for family to arrive this Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. My entire house was spotless, even polished the hardwood floors (something that isn't done often enough).

My sleeping pattern has been awful lately - waking up in the middle of the night unable to go back to sleep - happened last night at 3:30 and was tossing and turning til it was time to get up at 5:00. Ugh.

But I'm at work - full week again this week. Not much else new right now.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Good morning Mary and all of PA - Mary - I hope you are starting to feel like yourself again soon - You haven't been feeling great for a little while now.  I hope it gets better REAL soon!

Liz - Take care of yourself and listen to your body - it has a way of telling you what you need!

So - here I am sitting in my classroom waiting for a VERY EXCITING meeting to begin - UGH!  I dislike these damned monday morning meetings - as a reminder - I enjoy my students - not so much the administration - so the 1.5 hours you take away from my students just makes me nuts!  especially when the meetings are about teaching reading and I DON'T!!!!!!!

I am teaching until 3:15 then headed home for the night....I think! :)  Very exciting - Larry is actually home tonight and I already asked him if he would be willing to take Molly to her dance class so I can be home for a stretch of time - and of course he said he would.  He is VERY good that way! :)

I am a bit excited - I was looking down at me this morning and I think that FINALLY my belly is smaller than my boobs!  It may change after I eat breakfast of course - but for now - YAY! :)  Don't know the last time I could say that.  Just thought I would share! :)

I hope you all have a nice sunny Monday! :)

Good Morning All,
Mary hope you feel better.  Liz take care of yourself, get some rest.  Today finds me getting contact information together for my daughter for after my surgery.  So glad to see the sunshine again.  Yesterday was wonderful.  Have a good day everyone.

Good Morning Mary & PA,

Sorry to hear you were under it this past weekend, hope that your week goes well!

I had a busy weekend, Tony came done for the day on Saturday and then my new furniture was delivered Saturday night.  Which was a hoot it was when bedtime came, I digress here. . . my new bed is one of those high beds with cedar drawers underneath, so I need a step stool to get on it, well Dillinger could not make it, not sure he could have made it when he was young and spry, which by the way, yesterday was his 13th B-day, anyway, anyway he circled and I tried to figure a way to get him up on the bed, finally came up with a solution that worked, which was to open the drawers on one side and put a shelving unit on it, to make a sort of step for him, it worked, getting him off was another feat, as he did not trust the drawer step, but we made it and night two went similarly, though I did go out yesterday and spend $75 on doggie steps that he would not use, so they will go back and I need to build some steps for him, anyone out there a carpenter?  (lol) . . .  Anyway, please keep Dillinger and me in your positive thoughts today as he is undergoing surgery to remove a growth that he has on his front paw, which has recently become an open sore and had to be removed.  Anthesia risks are high for anyone man or beast, especially when older. . .  The rest of my weekend was spent working on outdoor stuff, raking, sweeping pine needles, putting away anything that needed to be put away for the winter months, oh and cooking and in between catching up on some dvr'd programming. . .

Wish I were able to enjoy this beautiful day, but being at work is a better place for me today. . .

Hugs and best wishes to all, may you have the strength to face whatever life brings your way!

Laureen

Molly can't jump up into my SUV anymore, so she uses a doggie ramp.  Might want to try one of those...or build one of your own.

Happy birthday Dillinger!!

Thanks HG, I will see about a ramp, but he might not take to it, if something moves or seems unstable to him, he does not like it, but I will figure something out this week, because he will not be able to go up on the bed, as I have to keep pressure off of his paw, so getting up, but most especially getting down will be an issue since it is the front paw.

LOL, you make me laugh. . .  there are no legs. . . it is a platform bed with nice cedar storage drawers underneath and a solid headboard. . .  the bed, with the mattress (I did not purchase one of those pillowtop mattresses or it would have been worse), is about 56 inches high. . .  I will have to be careful of my ceiling fan if I were to get crazy (wink, wink). . .
