Rainy Wednesday Roll Call
My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . . It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . . Laureen

My dear,
You earned the right to whine and ***** and complain. I don't care who you are or if you have the "perfect" problem free pregnancy. You get that right simply by having a fetus inside of you.You are baking a person in there, new life, potential future leader of the free world. ***** away!!!!!
Of course, I could also be saying this to make myself feel better! hahaha And I happen to love the names. I tell people all the time don't worry if you don't like my daughters name I picked. You aren't the one who has to wear it!
Hang in there kiddo!!!
Morning PA!
I hope everyone made/makes it to work or on your errands safe this morning.
Liz, I hope your back feels better.
So today is just another day of really taking it easy. With all that has happened, my mom and best friend have banned me from baking or cooking anything I don't absolutely need.
I had a supply of movies dropped off when I got home from the hospital yesterday by another friend. I guess everyone is really intent on making sure I follow docs orders. So my bed and couch all day it is...hmmmmm
Hope everyone has a great wintery Wednesday!!!!
well I've been up since about 5:30.. did not set the clock for 5, needed a bit extra sleep...went to bed early last night, too
Siehara has a 2 hour delay, so I turned off her clock so it wouldn't wake her up at 6:15. Wouldn't you know, she woke up at 6:30 anyway. So, after I sent her back to her bed because she was way to crabby to be part of my world, I watched the Biggest Loser finale while working my OT.
Working until 3:30 today
then gym to do week 5 day 2.. nervous about this one... 8 minutes of jogging at a time.. if I need to I'll go back to week 5 day 1 and do that again. We shall see. I am going to try to do the 8 minutes. Also doing strength training.
Pick Siehara up from choir, then home for dinner... meatloaf and ?
Everyone be safe. Again, glad I don't have to leave the house this morning in what looks like a slushy mess outside.
What a morning. Of all mornings, I had to get Joshua to a friends house by 7 am to leave for Auburn University in Alabama this morning. I REALLY hope the pilot enjoys taking off in the rain! And hey - after reading Liz's post - I am so pleased that it is JUST rain here - just think if it was any colder! TONS of snow, and while I do enjoy snow - I am just not quite ready for it!
So - kept Emily home again today - still a little complaining although no fever, I figured for a little girl who has never been absent from school, EVER, (Well, since starting Kindergarten anyway,) Another day off wouldn't kill her AND....it does gibe her teacher a break! :) So she is hanging out with her grandfather this morning. And Molly, well...she just went to school like it is a normal day...BECAUSE IT IS! :)
I am hoping that my kids sleep at their grandfathers tongiht so I can get the wrapping done - as I will be away this weekend I need to get some Hanukkah presents ready to go with them for the weekend. Although, Larry will be around for dinner each night - he can take them the gifts. Either way - would LOVE a break tonight! :)
So - working until 3:15, then the afternoon is up in the air.
Have a wonderful day - try to stay dry and safe! :)
My plan for the dinner is to have my protein in ahead of time so I don't have to "rely on" that food too much. I'll have some salad or veggies, then pick at the main dish (which I think is going to be baked ziti). At that point, I'll put more focus on visiting with everyone. And I have the dessert covered with what I'm taking.
Making the cake was kind of a funny experience. I have been 100% pure on NO flour products. Now I see that this entire 9x13 cake has only 1 3/4 cups of flour, and it will be cut into 24 - 30 small pieces. That's not much flour per serving is it? It looks beautiful!
We are making plans to head out to Michigan for Christmas weekend. The family celebration there will be the day after Christmas. Need to make some plans for the menu there...festive, everyone will eat it, and WLS friendly! And - the bigger task - planning some things to do while hanging out at my mom's so we don't just sit and sit and sit some more.
We luckily just had tons of rain, but none of the white or slushy stuff. Just truly impressive amounts of rain.
I made it to the pre-op meeting last night at Barix. Having missed Saturday I just felt the need to be in a WLS support atmosphere - and I'm so glad I did. What a lovely group of pre-ops, 2 day-before post-ops, and a surprising number of other post ops. But boy was I TIRED when I got home last night - totally forgot to call Katie back (guess that puts me in the "bad mom" category) and just collapsed into bed!
Anyway - got to the gym this morning. Today was a weights day, so I figured it was a good time to hit a "stair" prep for my cardio warmup. OMG - what have I gotten myself into???? The machine I was on was actually a weird one - not a true stairstepper - more like a speed skating/stair step combo action. I have no clue what it's called (it was the only stair-like machine that was free). But it kicked my ass big time in only 5 minutes. Sigh. OK - well, March is achievable - just focus on building up to it. Pam - thanks for the challenge. If your ears burn 3x a week in the early morning, it'll be me cursing you while I'm on these machines. :-)
Today's got work all day. And ANOTHER lunch out. This one's at the Vietnamese restaurant in Newtown, so very healthy and WLS friendly (thankfully!). And I have a pot roast in the crockpot for tonight.
Stay warm and dry, folks!
Karen
