Laureen, my boxer takes benadryl for dry skin and it works really well. The itching drives me CRAZY when I forget to give her a pill! When it's really bad we add an atarax capsule and that does the trick.

Thanks Lynn,

what's atarax and where do you get it?

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Heading out right now to visit some friends who I can't reach by phone to let them know I survived surgery. Going to the grocery store (for laundry detergent and milk).

Later today I am going to go buy my very own......SCALE!!! I can't wait.  I have not been able to be weighed on a bathroom scale in forever. It has also been that long since I could get on scale at my family doctors office.  If my timing is right, I will be able to walk in to his office for my yearly blood pressure checkup and hormone checkup and tell his beautiful nurse Jesse to let me show her how hard I have worked.  And then, hopefully she is as happy as I am and I get another nice hug from her.

Then after getting my scale, my daughter and I are going on a small road trip to my brothers so she can trim the nails on his 2 Boston Terriers. It is going to be a long but fun day!

Hey, didn't you just have surgery on 12/30 or 12/31? Even if you're feeling good please be careful and do not overdo it - your body has been through a lot even if it doesn't feel like it and I'd hate to see you have a setback after doing so well. I am speaking from experience because I felt so great post-op that I tended to overdo things and then it took me longer to bounce back overall.

So its good that you're walking and things like that, but please remember to baby your body at least for a little while.

Good morning all - hope you get settled in soon, Tri**** always takes some time to get things right where you want them and are comfortable with them.

I'm at work today - a bit concerned about my mom and will be checking on her soon - I check on her before I leave the house but she's sleeping when I put the dog in with her so its hard to tell how she's feeling that early. Last night she could barely talk without coughing horribly and I can hear her chest rattling - not a good sign for her as she is very prone to pnemonia, so we're going to keep a close eye on that. She has said that she won't have any more chemo treatments - we'll see. I won't force her, obviously, and I know they've been leaving her feeling terribly weak, and then with all the mess of my niece in the past week it has really worn her system down. I am going to talk to my sister about them coming to get her to take her back to Florida for a while - now she's basically a prisoner in our home because its far too cold for her to go out, and she doesn't get any visitors. At least in FLA there is always someone around and people coming and going. And if she's really decided not to have any more treatments she might as well go down now.

Other than that not much new for me - I did get my butt on my bike last night for 1/2 hour - it felt good and I've been away from it far too long. Time to get back in the saddle as my 2 year surgiversary will be here before I know it and I'd like to have at least another 5-10 lbs off. We'll see how it goes!

Take care everyone and keep warm!

Kathy

A day in the life....made me chuckle!

Anyway - we saw AVATAR last night...OMG...soooo good.  It's about 2 hrs 40 mins.  I kind of felt like it was "Fern Gulley meets Poachontas" but it was so much more than that!  Have fun!

Good morning Trish and all of PA - I hope you get acclimated to your new place soon Trish - after all - it is PSSA time?!?!  :) HAHAHAHAHA!  (When ISN'T it PSSA time?)

I actually was warm last night, I put on the Mickey Mouse comforter and slept soundly.  I guess sometimes that is all I need, a little cartoon mouse and all is good with the world. :)  I then of course was aggravated by Molly this morning, what else is new?  I think she forgot to take her meds last night - I wish her teachers luck!  I forgot to remind her....ugh!

Today is back to my crazy Tuesday schedule - school during the day - Hebrew school this afternoon, more Hebrew School tonight.  I hope these kids give me strength, becuase I have NONE!  I am VERY frustrated with my food these days and have gotten to beating myself up...always a good thing :(  and I am already tired of the regular routine.  I guess that is one of the drawbacks of having a WONDERFUL break from the normal.  The kids are at each other, which of course, annoys Larry, which then annoys me - and so it goes! ahhhh!!!!  such a life we choose to live! :)

Seasonal Affective Disorder seems to be creeping its way into my liife - i think I need to sit down and make some schedule to do the things that I love to do - haven't scrapped in a while, I think it is time to organize some pics of happy times, maybe that will work!

I hope you al have a warm and nice Tuesday!
