Lynn, as you see many of us use fruit regularly. Just start out carefully and try one at a time. My first was about 1" of banana (and banana is high in sugar, but I was more interested in the soft texture at the time!).

When I eat a clementine or  tangerine, I am careful not to eat too much of the membrane.

As for apples, I use a corer/section cutter and eat about 2 slices.

And by the way, I'm also a Lynn...and my last name is a "Mc" last name, so I often use LMc as my initials!

Let me start with the disclaimer that "i don't dump" (long story).  But I do eat fruit daily, as do many others.  I usually have a clementine or half of an apple or something like that with a piece of low fat string cheese as one of my snacks.  Additionally, from day one (and per recipes in my barix bible), I put frozen (unsweetened) strawberries and half a frozen banana in my protein shake  for my breakfasts...  or sometimes frozen peaches or frozen cherries, etc.   I also use cherries (unsweetened), peaches, mangoee, etc., when i make sauces for my proteins, in baking, etc.

My caution is to proceed carefully in trying new things - fruits are high in carbs and can be dumping triggers if you eat too much of them.  As with any new thing - try it at home first in case you dump on it.  If you do dump, try again later (your body may tolerate it as you get farther out).

Hope it helps!

I rarely eat fruit. I have dumped on every fruit out there. I have learned that natural sugars make me sicker, quicker than other sugars. In fact, at my kids wrestling match today, I was starved and grabbed a few of my daughters grapes to hold me over, and I got so sick. And really, it may have been 4 or 5.

So I guess it depends on each person. I can tolerate a small banana, or fresh pinapple is only a few pieces, but that about it.

When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!

I have noticed I cannot eat fruit for breakfast - not the first thing of the day.  But if I have fruit as a snack in the evening I am fine.  And not too much of it.   No more than a half banana or bit of apple.  And eating it with PB seems to help too!
