last night's appointment with the therapist--kinda long
Lisa,
Sounds like you actually had a few "productive" days... yes, there was pain involved, but you're in the process of giving birth to (as someone put it) Lisa 2.0. And no one ever said birthing was painless.
The best relationships come with both people being on equal footing. In your case, it sounds like that wasn't happening and that really neither of you were getting what you needed out of the relationship. It's better to be "single" and settled in yourself than to be in an unhappy or discontent relationship just to be in one, or just to keep from being "alone."
Your work with your therapist seems to be bearing fruit very quickly, which is a great thing. Change happens slowly, but realizing the direction for change and setting goals for change can be very energizing.
Kudos to you for the hard and painful work you're doing, and for doing it "in the public eye" so to speak. Your journey is helping ALL of us, whether you realize it or not.
BIG hugs to you. And remember that you're NOT alone! You have a great group of friends and supporters, and just need to call on us whenever you need us or just want to hang out. We'll be there for you.

Thanks for the post, Lisa. You had every right to be upset with Siehara. You didn't drop the magnet, and you shouldn't have to pick it up! CASE CLOSED! Also, that so-called "friend" of yours did you a big favor. You need positive people in your life who will lift you up. People who drag you down are a dime a dozen. They are toxic and don't add much. Stick with healthy, supportive people who genuinely care about you unconditionally. You have a good counselor. Stick with it, Lisa. You are a beautiful, intelligent individual. Don't get sucked up into someone else's problems. It's better to be alone than have to endure that! I'm sure, as we all have, enough problems of your own. Hang in there!
