Haven't been on in quite some time.  First it was my 8 day cruise but now I'm in Mexico recovering from my plastic surgery.  So far, so good.  Take care.

Cool beans on the cruise - love them!! Hope you had good weather and a great time.

Please keep us posted on the plastics and your surgeon, etc. I was talking to my friend in Yuma, AZ this morning and they're only an hour away from Mexico and go shopping over there all the time. I mentioned WLS patients having their plastics down there because of the cost, etc. and she was more than happy to 'house' me if I decide to have it in Mexico.

Take care - rest and heal - good to hear from you!

My in laws winter in Yuma and get a lot of medical and dental care in Mexico.

Do you mind sharing what you had done and what the cost savings was for you?

Best wishes for a smooth recovery!

I used Dr. Sauceda in Monterrey Mexico.  His website is www.medicaltourism.com.mx or email at [email protected]

I had anchor cut tummy tuck, breast lift and augmentation, full arms, and medial thigh lift.  I paid $13,000 US for all of that and he reimburses your air and pays for aftercare in a hotel nearby.  I spent 3 days in the surgical center.  Surgery was 10 hours long but they do not use general anesthia.  They do a spinal and twilight sedation so 10 hours isn't the same risk as general.  He visited me twice a day in the surgical center.  I've been at the hotel 2 days and so far he visited twice each day plus the nurse comes once a day too

Consults in the US ranged from $28K to 38K for all of this and is would have been done in stages with several recoveries.  Being self pay (absolutely no rashes or anything to hang hope on), these would have been done as outpatient with my family caring for me afterward.  The extended stay and nursing care was a plus in my decision.

So far so good for me.  Its definately not for everyone and long term aftercare could be an issue if something develops.  There is a special OH forum for Dr. Sauceda patients and I posted a blow by blow description of my time here so far.   Lots to learn on the PS forum as well.
