why don't you try the breyers low far no sugar added ice cream or Edy's, the fat content in the carb smart is high I know we can have 11 gms at a time but I wouldn;t waste the fat the breyers Vanilla/choc/straw is about 80 calories and maybe 4 gms fat I m not sure but I know the Breyers tastes better

This killed me gas/wise before surgery, I would be afraid now! It also has corn syrup. I was told to stay away from that/

I wouldn't eat anything that has cornsyrup in it... and I am a huge fan of Schwans items...

but ice cream wise I pick Blue Bunny no sugar added ice cream- most of them are 95 to 98% fat free... lots of great flavors... and you can get coupons from their website... super walmart... also walmart's brand of sugar free ice cream is really good and cheap...

The Eggface site has lots of recipes for protein ice cream that you can make. I haven't tried it yet--waiting for warmer weather. But Jenn that would kill two birds with one stone, you could get some protein supplements and eat ice cream at the same time!

I'd just be careful about adding in things that don't have a big protein punch this early out.  To easy to get side tracked by "yummy" things instead of what you *should* have.
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I agree with whoever mentioned it earlier.  Try some of the recipes on Eggface's site for protein ice cream.  It is good, you can make what you like and you get some of the well-needed protein while enjoying ice cream.

My question would be: What nutritional value does this offer me?

Now, I know, I am probably hyper about this whole train of thought - but it's gotten me through pretty well.

Here's how I think about it:
I only have room for a limited amount of food.
The food I eat has to have nutritional value to be worthwhile.
I know my targets each day and hit them comfortably.
I know my trigger foods and steer wide and clear away from them.

Now, for me? Ice cream may be a trigger. But I love it. This spring I'm getting a cuisinart ice cream maker and I'll do the frozen greek yogurt thing, or some of the other protein ice cream recipes.
