Tuesday Roll Call

Well, I'm actually kind of surprised I'm starting this.  Where are all of our early risers?

I went to bed last night early in anticipation of getting UP early to do a few back to back classes at the gym.

Apparantly my body had other ideas as I literally got out of bed about 5 mins ago and was supposed to leave the house 15 mins ago.  Oh well.

I'll be staying home for the next few hours and then going with Brian to the local community college - he has a tour set up!!!!  He's FINALLY looking into school - has decided on something IT-ish/computers which, if anyone knows him, realizes this is probably a GREAT idea for him.  So, we are leaving the house at 10.   The tour isn't until 11 but they want him there early about 15-20 mins before the tour at the admission office, plus we've never been there before...and we can't forget stopping at Wawa for his coffee so he appears human to these people, LOL

Have no idea when we'll be home...at some point I should try to lay down and take a nap - but with all the sleep I got last night, not sure if that will happen.

Pack up food and go back to work tonight.  Those two days off went ENTIRELY to fast!

Good luck to Brian today! He'll do great with computer work!!

My pouch is still on "revolt" mode. I will be taking it easy on it today. I am back at work - ugh. Here until 4 and surprise I am training the person who is going to be covering some of my duties while I am out on maternity leave - talk about making it real!!! AFter work I need to run into Target to pick up something for my mom then home to make dinner and relax!

Have a great day and enjoy the sun shine!

I have decided the first thing I am going to do mornings is now post on OH and get my Sparkpeople set up for the day instead of check email and futz around on Facebook.  :-)  I think doing all this first sets my tone for the day, which is much more organized.

So as for me, I am on spring break this week.  I am going to get Ruthie off to school, come home and get my laundry finished and beds stripped and remade, open up a window or two, and finish up some extraneous paperwork.  I am then going to Kennett Square to the Y to take care of business, and come home and veg out.  I need some mental downtime.  Things have been very stressful the past 2 weeks.

Ruthie has art class after school, but I am getting her at 4:30 and then we are going walk/running.  I have decided to start running.  I can't believe I am actually going to run.  Wish me luck!!!  I fear I may die, but at least I'll die trying.  ;-)

Then it is going to be dinner and early to bed.

My life is just a ball of fun, let me tell ya!  ;-)

Hope you all make it a great one!

Karrie

Great move, starting the day with us.  It really does help set the tone for the day.

As far as running goes, start slow.  You definitely don't want to overdo it and then not want to go back out there.  Try running/jogging in short spurts at first... like even 30 seconds.  Then, walk for a minute or two, then jog.  There is a great interval training workout called the couch to 5k program.   www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml

At the bottom of the page, it gives you the way the workout should go to get your body used to running.

This page has some music with voiceover telling you when to switch back and forth.  I personally don't like the music that much, but there are other podcasts out there that you can search for.  This one just gives you the basic idea. www.ullreys.com/robert/Podcasts/podcasts/podcasts.html

Good luck!! Now that it is getting nice out again, I am going to start over with this and try to really get this done before my daughter's race in May

Good morning, PA!

Great that Brian decided on IT---seems a perfect choice for him!

A friend of mine is coming over today to go through some clothes.  She needs some tops, and she's also looking for some clothes to modify for a friend who's in a sling for a while.  (She shattered her elbow, and the sling irritates her neck.)  Afterward, we'll head over to her house for a "stitch and *****" session.  We're trying to get together every Tuesday to work on some sort of craft, and I've recently started doing counted cross stitch again.

I'll be getting my exercise in before all that goes on this morning.  And I may go out for a walk with Paul later today.  That means I'll be getting 'double' exercise, but at least he's getting out and getting some exercise again.  (He was great about walking with me after surgery, but we stopped when we got into winter.

Have a great day, everyone!!

Good morning everybody - I'm starting to feel more like my old self again - a lot to be said for a routine, work, and getting back to life and finding a new normal without mom. She was such a big part of our lives for over 18 years that it's going to take some time, but we are starting to settle back in and move on.

I didn't get on my bike last night but I did take the dog for a nice long walk - got some fresh air and am loving the temps right now - and the fact that we can see mostly grass instead of snow - LOL!! Also mixing some protein shakes in with my meals to boost my proteins back up until I'm on a better eating schedule again. I can really tell in my hair that my levels were too low - its dull and breaking - not a good sign.

Other than that I am at work - going to check on line for a short cruise out of Canaveral in Florida. Hubby and I are going to take some time in May and drive down to visit my sister and brother in Daytona Beach, then hop a cruise from there, come back and visit with them for another day or two then drive home. That way we can take the little furball with us and my sister will watch him - its giving us something nice to look foward to.

Other than that I'm at work settling back in here as well. Hope everyone has a great day.

Kathy

Good morning Pammy and all of PA - Have fun touring the college - and remember - he will be PAYING them so it doesn't really matter what he seems like to them - however, coffee before a big decision....probably a good idea! :)

I am sitting in my classroom still amazed that I can get through my days as of late - yesterday was crazy but I got it all done and was asleep by 11.  So today starts another long arduous day.  It is usually this time of year that I look ahead - which I hate to do as things already go TOO quickly, but my Tuesdays are getting longer and longer.  Fortunately, the late classes - 6:30-8:30 - end the end of April, so only about 6 more weeks of that.  The afternoon classes go through to May....Oh well...I need to support my new habit of shopping.

Oh - and a question - I am getting tired of packing lunch every day - It could be because I have NOT been to the market in over two weeks and I am tired of eating turkey chili every day - or it could be that I am just getting bored and have no time to cook anything....(I HAVE BEEN TRYING!!!!! LOL)  Any suggestions on a quick pick up lunch I could get that is easy and fast?  I am also sitting here thinking that this just might be that it is ONE MORE thing that I have to worry about and would like to NOT worry about something....who knows!  Oh well.....

Hope you all have a beautiful Spring like Tuesday!

Wawa actually has a great selection of grab and go things...

They have two packs of hard boiled eggs and string cheese along with individual sized fruit cups.  Two eggs, a cheese stick, and some fruit, and you're good to go.

They also have a "protein pack" that has a small whole grain bagel, peanut butter, almonds, and a few other things...maybe grapes?  The fat content is a bit high - but I don't eat the whole thing so two servings makes it more manageable.

Also, their salads are pretty darn tasty!

You could also buy a little bit of sliced meat from their deli counter and do meat roll ups....
