Many people here have had sleep apnea...it is all different on if and when you can give up your cpap/bipap machine.  Your doctor (probably your primary or your pulmonologist, whoever put you on the machine to begin with) will probably need to re order a repeat sleep study after a significant amount of your extra weight has been lost.

You'll get there....but it might take some time :)
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

I had sleep apnea.  I don't remember exactly how long it was until I didn't need it, but it was a very good feeling to not have to use it anymore!  Good luck!

Its been 4 years for me, I still have it.  Considering both my parents died of respiratory failure, I guess its a given that I still have it.

Some days your the dog and some days your the hydrant.
