White Orchids Thai Restaurant - Center Valley
OK you Lehigh Valley folks! Do you know this restaurant? I am having lunch there on Tuesday....what is the best choice to order? I am pretty good at picking out ingredients I don't want to eat, but am concerned about sauces. Any advice?

Lynn,
We eat Thai food a lot... I'd recommend:
Lhap (the lettuce wraps)
Satay (ask for the sauce on the side - most places it comes on the side, but best to be sure)
Soups:
Lemongrass soup is usually quite safe as are most Poh's (their seafood poh sounds delicious and high protein/low fat!)
Entree:
Any of the vermicelli noodle dishes are likely to be good - those "cellophane" vermicelli noodles are made with mung beans and are high in protein and gluten free. Still high in carbs, but nothing like wheat pastas.
The pan-seared dishes (salmon and scallops) sound good - just ask for sauce on the side and low oil preparation.
Honestly, going for one or two appetizers or an appetizer and a soup is likely to be MORE than enough, especially for a lunch.
Enjoy!
