Wednesday Workouts!
Good morning one and all!
I am awake and running full steam at work, after a good workout on the elliptical this morning.
I keep waiting to hear about AWESOME treasure that Julia finds on an upcoming metal detecting walk. I sense a vast fortune of gold and other precious metals is just around the bend.
I found a dime at the gym this morning, so I guess that caounts for something, right?

Woohoo for the dime!
Today is a X-training day for me... which means 30 minutes on the elliptical. Have I mentioned I loathe the elliptical?

I did a bit of a different workout this morning. Did 20 minutes on the treadmill followed by a session on the mats with kicking, crunches, leg lifts, medicine ball, stretching, etc., followed by 2 of the weight machines. Kinda out of my normal order and comfort zone, but changing things up can be a good thing.

I got a coupon from Gold's for a free fitness assessment since I have been at the gym for a year now.. WHAT!??! I actually made it through a year and have been going pretty faithfully for that whole time?! WOW!!
He will weigh and measure me and give me a fitness routine that I can follow for the next few weeks/ month or whatever. He'll show me a few moves on the machines, but it won't be anything too straining.
I'm sure it is a sales tactic to get me back into the personal training thing, but I can't afford that right now and my Rocco isn't there, so I'll just take the free thing and go from there.
I will NOT be staying to do any other kind of workout because I am still sore from yesterday.

so guess who DID work out tonight!
Went in for my little info session and after listening to them talk about how I didn't have enough carbs in my diet and just nodding and agreeing, Derrick gave me a good upper body workout. I really thought he would just go over a few moves and let it go at that, but he was really after the sale.
First he put me on the elliptical for a 5 minute warm up.. does he know how much I hate the elliptical? probably not, but I did it and did not even flinch.. I had it on level 1 and he put it to level 3.. didn't squirm.. just did it!
We did chest, shoulders, back, biceps and triceps. He had me on the ground doing some crazy push up things holding dumbbells on the floor and then turning and doing a rotation and lifting the dumbbell.. holy crap.. that worked everything.. my legs were shaking, abs hurting, chest throbbing.. ok, I'm getting sore again just thinking about it.
Anyway, I got a nice workout in and he gave me a good deal on a few workouts. He tried to get me to sign on for 6 months, but I really cannot do that right now. I signed up for 5 sessions with him for $100. I didn't want to, but I can really use it and I definitely know the benefit of working with someone.
