POLL--Fun!
I to have 1 tattoo right now and of course there is a story behind it. I have a full bracelet of lilies around my right wrist as a memorial to my mom who passed away on 09-15-06. Stargazer lilies were her favorite flower and every year for her birthday and mother's day i would send her a huge bouquet just to make her smile .... and when i called her after she got them i knew she loved them because I could hear the smile in her voice.
As for having a tattoo in celebration of WLS I am planning to have one but not until I'm done losing and have completed all of my reconstructive surgeries. The whole idea came up through Eggface's blog when she called herself a "Franken Barbie". My husband caught on to that and has started calling me a "Franken Barbie" as well .... and it kinda fits .... especially with my neck and hip surgeries (4 of them) and the WLS and pending shoulder surgery. So after I'm properly reconstructed I'm planning on having a 50's pin-up girl in color put somewhere on my body ... not sure where yet .... and around the pin-up will be the lettering "I'm a Franken Barbie".
For others I'm planning two more... but those are down the road as well.

I got my eyeliner tattooed on. A brownish green... Before I had it, I would convince myself I was sick &/or tired when I saw myself in the mirror. Now, I always have makeup on and I feel better about myself. I go May 15th for touch ups...
I went to a place in Erie, PA called Dermagraphics. They're associated with a plastic surgeons office.
For my birthday/xmas/surgiversary gift to me, I'm getting my lips tattooed. Salami is not a popular lipstick color and it's not a pretty shade on me either. I want a bit more color.

now eyeliner is something I could actually see myself doing.. like a brown color so it's subtle. I, too, think I look sick or tired when I have no make up on. I look completely different when I put it on.
I still don't think I would ever do it.. it is not technically allowed in my congregation, plus the pain.. uh.. I don't think so.

I had two prior to surgery - one of a celtic knot with a heart in it as a tramp stamp and one as the star of life with the letters "EMT" above it (gotten before I was an RN - will be adding that)
For my 1 year surgiversary/goal weight I got a HUGE fairy. It's gothic and girly and fantasy all at the same time. You can see pics on my profile.
I wanted her to have big wings to symbolize the transformation, like a butterfly, and I wanted her girly and her with flowers (she's standing coming out of them) for the beauty. The wings are purple (my favorite color).....I love her :)

Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.
