It's amazing you haven't needed a craniotomy to make room in that skull of yours for all your brain matter and thinking and writing you do all oh so well :)
Instead of complaining that the rosebush has thorns, be happy that the thorn bush has roses.

How long does it take for the nerves to grow back? I'm worried I might be tempted to eat more again when the nerves are connected again.

You are not going to get "hungrier" per say...although over time...you can hold more in your stomach (and you're "supposed" to in a manner of speaking) 

The nerves grow back in a few months...

But Karen is right...using exercises and starting NOW to recognize triggers, WHY you want to eat, WHAT you want to eat, and WHERE you want to eat are all very important. 

I still fall into bad habits at work, it's a stress issue for me most of the time.  That way, if you can use this time to learn what you are really thinking and WHY you want to eat...the better off you will be able to make informed choices as true hunger begins again.
