***Manic Monday Roll Call***
Saturday's BBQ was a lot of fun. I met a bunch of new people. Yesterday Siehara and I hung out with Bron and his family and friends for an impromptu BBQ that was planned because I told him we could come up there so Siehara could meet his nephew and the rest of the family. Some of his sister in law's family was there and there were a few friends, as well. It was an awesome day. I really got to know his sister in law pretty well. The guys were in the house much of the day watching World Cup and kick boxing and such, but they were in and out all day to come be with the girls. What a fantastic bunch of people. I don't want to jump the gun, but I really like Bron and his family. Siehara couldn't stop talking about the day all the way home. She got along with all of the kids, including Bron's nephew, really well. It just took a little bit for all of them to warm up to each other.
Looks like we will be going to the sister in law's parent's house for the 4th of July and from what I understand, they have a blast every time they go there because they live on a lake and have a boat. I can't wait!!!!
Anyway, enough about my fabulous weekend, it's Monday and again I'm in a fabulous mood. I'm working my adjusted summer schedule as Siehara starts day camp today. I have to drive her to camp at 8:30. She will have a fun filled day and I know she'll be exhausted tonight. After work, I will pick up Siehara, as well as my friend's 3 yes I said 3 BOYS from camp and bring them all here. My friend is finishing up cosmetology school and can't get there in time to pick them up without losing out on time to get her hours in for school so I told her I'd help her out for the next few weeks when her husband has to work and can't get there either. They will only be at my house for about an hour at the most and they are pretty good kids.. I'm just not used to having 4 children in my little apartment. It will work out though and I don't mind helping out a friend. I know what it's like to be stuck.
Tonight, I will go to the gym.. which one will depend on the other girl who I was working out with last week. If she wants to go, I will meet her in Bethlehem for pilates and body pump. If she does not, then I will go to Whitehall for spin and some strength training.
Have a great day everyone and like it has been said, stay hydrated!
Off today and back tomorrow. Hope everyone enjoys their Monday and stays cool!
When life hands you lemons, ask for tequila & salt and give me a call!
Morning all - was MIA from the boards this weekend - was able to read the posts but for some reason the iPhone just didn't want to work to allow me to post - so congrats to all who had special moments lately - awesome!!
I'm at work sucking up their A/C for the day - we had a fairly quiet weekend - cleaned most of the day Saturday - Saturday night our neighbors came over and we played dominoes - nice evening. Yesterday I was out and about for some retail therapy - went to HomeGoods (they really should put a restraining order on me to keep from entering that store); then Bed Bath & Beyond, PetSmart and the grocery store. Got home, Len unloaded everything - I put it away and crashed for a nap.
Watched a movie last night and that was about it. Somehow Saturday either I or Quest got messed up on our bloodwork appts so I have to go in their system today to see what happened. We got to the place I thought we were supposed to go but they weren't open on weekends. So we still have to get our bloodwork done.
And that's about it for me today - leftovers for dinner tonight - too hot to cook.
Take care everybody - stay cool!!
OMG, is it HOT already!! I am STILL in school and so are the kids. Today we have awards ceremonies for the kids. I will be giving awards for my band and recorder kids. I went out to Becker's on Saturday and got sparkly pencils for them to go with their award certificates. My day began dropping Dee off at her before and after care place and her first day of summer school. I requested this for her because she regresses so quickly! Luckily she did qualify with her IEP. The summer school is until August 4th so that should keep her busy for the first part of the summer. I just hope the bus picks her up at the right place and on time!! They usually call to tell me a bus number and time and they never did, so I am bit nervous about that.
I feel bad for most of my coworkers because the ac is not working in most of the building. Lucky me, it is working in my room!! I am grateful for that!! I am NOT a summer HOT weather person unless I am in a pool!!
Well, two more days of work then SUMMER FINALLY!!! I will be working though

Have a great day and keep cool!!

My exercise routine is shot. First, the knee issue from a few weeks back has been flaring up off and on. My son says it sounds like a hyperextension and it will take time to heal. So...tylenol and the knee brace have continued. And I've had to give it some very consistent rest. Today may be the first day I venture out for much of a walk, but if I can do 20 or 30 minutes, that will have to suffice. Not going to tax it and have a setback!
Mike is driving out to pick me up, and we'll be driving home next Sunday, it looks like. We are leaving my car here for the kids to use this summer - they are down to one car, and with Tyler's internship demands, Sarah is without a car some days. And the car they have is a Honda wil lots of miles on it...and AC that only works intermittently.
Not much happening today. I need to make a couple of phone calls this morning. The plastic surgery consult was supposed to be free, but they billed my insurance, so I'm responsible for a large chunk because of my deductible. I'll be calling to ask why they billed insurance. Need to pack up lunch, maybe do some laundry. We're supposed to get some storms today, so we'll see how long we're out on the beach.
Tonight, we're planning to go to the free movie on the beach, weather permitting. I've recently discovered that there is a free movie on the beach almost every weeknight. They're family movies, which is fine with us. I think tonight's movie is Monsters vs. Aliens.
Have a great day, all!!!
So, he came home @ 7:05 and was in bed by 7:07 and is still sleeping. I'm charged with the task of keeping the little daycare kids quiet and happy. That, on a Monday, is not easy. They're usually extra tired and cranky on a Monday.
We did have a super weekend. I laid out with my baby oil/iodine combo for 8 hours and got some nice color. Read a whole book. Made my kids bored out of their skulls at a beach with a playground...how dare me! Then the kids and Jim went to my bil's camp overnite and I got TONS of housework done. Also, highlighted a friends hair. Whoa, was she ever brave!! Oh, one more thing, all my girls and one of their friends and I went to my grandparents farm to feed the calves and help my aunt "do the chores"...I think we were a hinderance, but, she swears we were helpful. I think when the bull got loose and joined us in the hay mow, twice, and when I was feeding one of the triplet calves, one other bucked me in the butt and I scared the cow behind me...she was being milked...and she decided to break free and run away thru the barn...yeah, I was pretty sure we should leave, but, she said it was all in a days work. (right!)
Today, just get thru the day and prepare to do it again tomorrow.
Oh, had a pretty puky weekend. Food did not want to stay in. So, taking it easy on the pouch for today too.
I am SO thankful for A/C today! This weekend was spent working the Manayunk Arts Festival, which was incredibly hot... TRULY incredibly hot... sitting/standing/working outside in the sun from 7 am - 8:30 pm both days. Exhausting doesn't even begin to cut it. I was pounding down water like crazy, sweating like crazy. Ate lightly, but started each day with an egg beaters omelet to get in protein. Somehow managed to gain 4 pounds in 2 days. I have NO clue what's going on there. So it's back to basics for me today. I'm NOT letting it play with my psyche. Well, not too much, at least.
Tomorrow it's back to the gym. Barely made it out of bed this morning to get to work at 10:30 - was THAT exhausted. It will be an early night tonight, too!
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and hang in there, folks! This heat wave WILL break.
