milk help
I was never much of a milk drinker before surgery and I was wondering about milk causing alot of gas? I have never been so full of gas lol. What kind of milk should we be using? Fat Free, skim milk, reduced fat or 2 %? I was also thinking about trying lactose milk to see if that gets rid of the gas. So confused to what kind of milk to buy, someone have the answers for me????
Thanks,
Pam

I find that I am OK with yogurt and cheese (it is cooked so most of the lactose in the milk is destroyed). You can also try taking the over the counter supplement that combats lactose intolerance and see if that helps. I've found that you can't taste the difference between lactaid and regular milk though

FYI, I am lactose intolerant since surgery. So I don't ever drink milk, or eat foods that are made with milk.
AND...........I still have gas ALL the time. I mean all the time. Almost 6 years post surgery, and my kids STILL call me the "Fart Princess".......so just letting you know that eliminating milk may not cure the gas.
