Topic: RE: needing some help pertaining to protein drinks after being sleeved
 Hey guys!

I have to say that after my 2 week-liquid diet I have not been able to dring ANY protein shakes. And I have tried many. I just can't stand the after taste! What works for me is: frozen fruits (mangoes and strawberries are my favorite, but they all work) + no fat greek yogurt + a little bit of juice + beneprotein. It's more like a protein smoothie, rather than a protein shake, but it's super yummy!

If youre on the go, there's the Extreme Protein smoothie from Jugo Juice with no less than 46g of protein!!

Hope that helps!

Thank you so much for asking this!  I was going to start a thread asking about what kind of protein shakes people here use as well.  I went into a health food store and felt like a deer in the headlights looking at all the different kinds, and I was worried about buying a giant jar of that stuff and then discovering that it's gross or something.  I know from my nutrition class what I'm supposed to look for on the label, but only the awesome folks here can give me reviews of which ones they actually LIKE.

Looking forward to seeing what people have to say!

Hi Amanda and welcome...

The meetings are basically a gathering of people who have had surgery, are thinking of having surgery and even for family and friends.

No "cost" but usually we pass a cup around and put in what we can because the moderator, Jennifer, pays for the room herself so we do what we can.

What we discuss usually depends on the people attending and what's on there mind. Your questions and concerns are shared with the group as well as your achievements.

It's a great time and a chance to meet other people that have gone through this same journey.

Do come and join us it will be great to meet you.

Ada

hello,i definatly prefered the chocolate,i had cheated a bit as i was so hungry i was having horrible headaches,i was also eating carrots was never told i could not eat carrots, lol,my mother tried vanilla as i had alot left over and mixed with black coffee was amazing she said, and now it is a new and improved optifast it dose taste better then when i had to drink it last year, but who ever is on optifast judt remember what the outcome will be and what your working for,i know its hard and its always worrysome to thin what if they open me up and they cant do itbecause the liver is still big or swollen,i did it for 2 weeks but for those who are doing itfor 4 or 6 weeks its much harder, and even if your bmi is under the mark you still might have to di longer,my momscblood tests came back and was told to do it for 6 weeks as her liver was fatty and enlarged,so it was shocker,so myadvice never think thatif your under the right amount for the time of optifast because your blood tests may show something different needing to stay on optifast longer,Amanda

hello,at first my mom knew and a few people, then my mom convinced me to tell my grandmother cuz it would make her happy,i told her and mentionednot to say anything, but it spead to everyone,I have found certain friends healous but they trynot to show it but you can see or feel it,iv also felt used by certain people to get info and be encouraging then no longer spoke to me after i was not of use to them, but in the end i convinced her to get a referal so she can embark on this journey as well,Ifind it hard when trying to eat right and everyones eating junk and they say just have a bite its fine, and yes sometimes i wil have a bite or 2 of a not too good item of food,i really hope that everyone can just be happy for the person who is going through this phase in there life,And its going to be better now as my mom has started her journey as well so it will ve good that we are both doing it together.i spoke with my mom and we are very interested in joining the next meeting,i think we all need support to go through this journey,
