Hi Lindsay,

The book that my therapist asked me to read is:

The Dialectical Behavior Therapy Skills Workbook: Practical DBT Exercises for Learning Mindfulness, Interpersonal Effectiveness, Emotion Regulation.

For me, it was never about the food, it was why I was eating. I am learning to regulate my emotions. As an emotional eater....i find it really helpful.

Here are other books that I've read:

The Emotional First + Aid Kit: A Practical Guide to Life After Bariatric Surgery, Second Edition by Cynthia L. Alexander

Before & After, Revised Edition: Living and Eating Well After Weight-Loss Surgery by Susan Maria Leach

The Complete Idiot's Guide to Eating Well After Weight LossSurgery by Margaret Furtado

Hi,

I am reading a very good book called Breaking Free from Emotional Eating by Geneen Roth. It is really worth reading. Surgery is a tool. The hard works begins after surgery.

If anyone has any good reads about anything - let me know. I have been reading alot these days. It's my new healthy hobby!

Stephanie
