Topic: Hey everyone! Saying a quick hello and update!
Hey all!!!
Thought I would drop by and say a quick hello and fill you in on my WL journey! I havent been on the net very much lately, there has been so much going on in my life and positive changes! I am always doing something (which is why I am barely on the net) lolllll...
Anyhow, as most of you know I had my sleeve on July 6th, 2011. And now just a little over 4 months post-op I am down a wonderful 96 pounds!!! Woot Woot!!!! I have had no complications, the only thing is I get wicked heartburn sometimes, I will get that checked for sure!
It has been a struggle more mentally than physically! I get frustrated when I see I didnt loose in a week. But as Derek said: Just look at where you came from.! I think that is very important to keep in mind. It is so strange how we can be hard on ourself sometimes, often forgetting where we began!
I feel amazing, lots of energy and most importantly confident in myself! I am hoping that after the holidays I will have lost another 30 pounds that will bring me to a comfortable weight. The only thing is that I know I should be exercising and I am not, I dont know why I am just not motivated!!! Grrrr....
My body has been adjusting just fine, so I think that is why I am not motivated, but still I should for sure get some exercise!!!!
Other than that, I am verrrry desapointed of myself for not taking any WL Journey pictures, cause often I feel the same size as I was before and I tend to try and compare myself too much. My big mistake for not taking pics during my WL.
I have a co-worker (friend) that is also going to have the sleeve done by Dr.Garneau, I am sooooo excited for her and I can't wait to see the change in her life! I am encouraging a lot of friends that ask me about the surgery to go for it! Or else they will always wish they would have a long time ago!
I found it funny that I had shrunk in shoe size too, go figure!!! lollll... I am due for a follow-up with Dr.Garneau in either December or January, I can't wait to see what he has to say!
Ok thats it folks! Congrats to the new sleevers! I have read posts that some had surgery and some are close to date! I am wishing good luck to all, and I hope to see you all soon! Maybe a get together before the holidays (potluck or something?)...

you have come so far! the 70lbs will come, it will just be harder, you can do it! 400lb loss is ....ing amazing! you dont read about those kind of losses! push forward, i know you will do it!

I appologize for not having kept up on my postings! I have missed so much it seems!
Things are well for me- Simon and I got engaged!!!
I hit 400 pounds lost then promptly gained about 5 pounds of it back and have been sitting at this damned weight for 3 months now- soooo frustrating!
I have almost given up on the weight loss and think I may need to just have the excess skin and tissue removed to have any more loss.
I am wearing a size 14/16 dress or skirt, 18 pants. I wear mediums and larges for tops now! Its crazy! Considering where I came from size wise.
I will be back in Montreal Jan 4-8th I believe- I would LOVE it if we could plan a little get together for then! I miss you all and want to see your progress!!!

Hi Robyn and everybody...just a little update. I decided not to go see Dr.Christou for the simple fact that my gut is telling me to not go...follow my instincts I will.
Anyway all my pre-ops are done for Dr.Garneau and I decided to give them a call today to update exactly what was going on and when I'll be getting this surgery done.
Danielle told me that they are just starting to call people from January so Dr.Garneau put me on the list on January 9th so we are talking about my wait so far has been about 22 months. She also told me that for me it's no longer December/January but January/February 2012. She also said that they only return to doing surgeries around January 12th.
I hope it goes faster for you Robyn but don't put your hopes up...btw Robyn...I'm having my surgery at Sacré Coeur too.
So I wait...
Looking on the bright side...I hopefully won't be on Optifast during the holidays...always have to look on that bright side...

Just wondering about the "drain" thing...why did were you stuck with it? What was it draining?
Anyway you are back and well on your way to losing!!!

I am from lachute as well, that is one of my biggest fears.... that I will not lose either...... keep positive...... it will come off....look it has already....kudos to you!!!!!!!!!

I normally call them, Danielle said I am not on December's schedule..... but everything is on schedule. He is currently doing up to 18 months waiting time, so it will be in the next couple of months......(jan or feb).
My first consult was March 10, I had a couple of them after that, the hospital received my file May 10 so it is now 18months exactly. I will be doing my surgery at sacre coeur hospital..... I have had previous surgeries, so I am high risk.
How about yourself? did you go for the consult with dr. christou? how did it go? will u be doing it at Rockland or the hospital?

Hi you guys.... Sorry for not giving any news since my surgery but I was busy... Had my vsg on october 13 by dr.Atlas at Sacre Coeur and everything went well except that I was stuck with a drain for a week. I'm slowly starting to eat soft foods but I still can't drink plain water either cold or room temp cause it hurts so much. So my liquid intake is kinda low. I'm loosing slowly but I think it's because I don't eat enough in a day and I don't take enough proteins. But I started eating chicken and cheese so that should help..... I hope.... I have lost 15 lbs before Optifast, 17 lbs with Optifast and since surgery, only 13 lbs!!! I was hoping to loose more quickly but i'm kinda stuck. Any suggestions to up it a little? I'm so afraid, all this was for nothing and that it won' t work for me.
