Hi everyone, even if i`m still pre-op for 1 more day, i have been on the Optifast for the last 2 weeks and i`m happy to say that I lost weight. Since my highest weight, i`ve lost 28 pounds and since starting the liquid diet, 13 pounds. I am very proud of myself cause the Optifast was not easy at all and i`m happy it`s almost over with. And now, 1 more dodo before i get my sleeve so please send prayers and good vibes my way....
Thank you my friends.....

Congratulations Monica on the weight loss and the quick recovery.
Sounds like you are doing great. Keep it up.
As for me I finally lost a couple of pounds. And since I'm going for a test tomorrow and can only eat broth and Jell-o today. That might help too. :)

Happy Thanksgiving y'all!
So, here I am, at my first official post-op weigh-in and the news couldn't be more encouraging. First of all, in the week since my surgery I have lost an amazing 20 lbs! I am aware that most of that is water loss, but still, it gives a nice boost to see the number on the scale.
But, even more importantly, I am feeling better and better every day. I'm walking, seeing friends, spending time with family. I have stopped taking the pain killers 3 days ago so I don't feel groggy all the time. The nausea is gone but the air gas, alas, is not. My attention span has gone from that of a drunken squirrel to that of a somewhat spastic cat - which is kinda better
. No weird cravings yet and it wasn't until yesterday that I felt some hunger pangs, but they were really mild. Oh, and I am sipping water like there's no tomorrow! And thanks to the addition of protein powder to 2% milk, yesterday I reached a miraculous 55 g of proteins and 523 calories!
So, to all of you pre-ops who are apprehensive about what's to come, take heart, things get better quite quickly.
Cheers,
Monica
