Hey,
Good to hear from you buddy!
I don't know how long it takes to "internalize" a routine but going to the gym each and every day seems a bit excessive to me. Since your body needs time to rest and make muscle fibers between training sessions, trainers usually recommand going to the gym 3 times a week or every other day. Exercising outside (cardio training) on off-gym days is a good idea. Going every other day on a regular basis is much more profitable than going every day and risking getting rapidly bored or p!ssed off by training...

My two cents...

Have a good  week everyone!|

Hey gang,
I've been away from OH this past week but I've been thinking of you guys. Sorry I missed some of you at Heidi's BBQ but I was at a cottage. I didn't think there was much interest at the time so I had made plans. My bad :(. Anyways, these past few weeks have been slow on the losing side but I'm still down 3 pounds since last week. I haven't been active (gym wise) enough these past months and I have to get back on track. Does anyone know how much time it takes for something to become routine? Like I seriously hate going to the gym but I want to be ripped and make everyone drool when I take my shirt off you know what I'm saying? LOL I know I can go to the gym every day but I just don't do it. I don't know what's wrong with me. I just can't get motivated enough to go. Anyone have any suggestions?

Have a great week everyone.

Topic: RE: Wait Times
 Hi Kellie

Welcome to the forum.  I'm also awaiting surgery - for me it is with Dr. Atlas for the VSG.  I've been waiting 22 months so far, and when I last spoke with the scheduling nurse at the Sacre Coeur Hospital, I was told the wait is as long as 30 months.  For those with lower BMI's, then surgery can be performed at the Rockland clinic, which has a shorter wait time.  But my partner has been on the waiting list for Rockland for 17 months so far.  Also, I'm told my surgeon does operate in the summer months.

As Derek said, the surgery approvals are dependant of a variety of criteria - like co-morbidities,  etc.

Anyhow - hope that helps,

Elena

Hi Kellie,
The approximate wait time for surgery is now 24-30 months but for some it was longer (36+ months) and some shorter (5-6 months). For me, I waited 22 months for surgery but I did not have it done at the Rockland Medical Clinic. If you are considered at the Rockland, the wait time is less but it still all depends on how your doc is feeling I guess. It almost looks like the docs pick names from a hat sometimes. I don't know what the process is but some get surgery before others. We do some outings sometimes so you should join us for our next one to see and get to interact with other patients who've had the surgery done. It's quite exciting and to me, the best decision of my life.

Congrats Anne! Finally your time has come. You will see these 2 months will fly right by and you will be sleeved before you know it. It's tough to quit the things we love so much but once you get on board and you know what good can come out of this surgery, you will WANT to quit and not feel like you HAVE to quit. I know that's how it was for me. Slowly start to cut back and it will make this process even more easier for you. I'm soooooo happy for you! I can't wait to see your progress.

Hi Betty Jo,

It is exciting, isn't it?  After 2 full days, I'm still floating on a cloud....  I can't believe that I finally got a date!!!!   Good luck on your surgery.  I'm getting a sleeve done at Sacre Coeur de Montreal by dr. Atlas.

I think that is great Cindy! I started losing more inches after the year mark and then it has lessened with time.....that's a good thing. I have flabby parts but all in all I lost well. I lost 16 inches in my hips and 12 inches in my waist so you are not that much different from me and I am almost at two years post op.
