Topic: RE: Montreal Comprehensive Weight Management Clinic??
Hi there. I did go there for my preop assessments and enjoyed my meeting with the Nut but didn't really learn anything new. They did weigh me and we did look at an ideal weight guideline for me. I did end up losing 35lbs than they suggested. It wasn't planned but that is where my weightloss stopped. I never used their services post op as I live too far away. The staff was knowledgeable in wls though and it is the clinic where all of Dr. Christou's private clinic patients go. The nutritionist at that clinic did post their guidelines on Dr. Christou's website. You can check it out. Good luck

Topic: RE: Some important numbers for me!!!
Hello all,

Derek, when I saw you this week I could'nt beleive my eyes... I have been telling everyone how great you are doing! I have no doubt in my mind that you will reach your goal!!! I heard that weighing yourself too often is not a good idea, I remember when I did a diet I was weighing myself almost everyday and it was amazing how the numbers fluctuate from day to day, so it makes being sicouraged easier sometimes so I don't encourage anyone to weight themselfs too often, once I have my surgery I will keep it to 1 day a week during the first 3 months and then I will weight myself every 2 weeks... The scale drove me nuts at times and I don't want to do the same once I get my op...

Wishing everyone the best!!! Keep up the great work! :)

Topic: RE: Smoking and VSG???
Thank you everyone for your kind feeback...  I am struggling right now and I am finding it very difficult to just quit. And I agree, they should of advised me to quit wayt before 30 day pre-op. I did slow down but to be honnest I have not been putting as much effort as I should have... My friend says just to not smoke 2 days pre-op? That is what she did but she was not a heavy smoker to begin with... Grrrrrrr, I am getting frustrated with myself... Wi**** was so easy, and considering I can't take champix it makes it even more difficult... I think I will try the patch and start on it this friday... But my concern is what if I quit and I am only 20 days away, will I not suffer from withdrawl at the same time? I don't want all that to affect my surgery?

Topic: Montreal Comprehensive Weight Management Clinic??

I wanted to know if anybody has had followup support from the Montreal Comprehensive Weight Management Clinic. I'm thinking I might need some "in person" support since my surgeon doesn't really offer any dieticians, exercise or psychological counselling. They have a pre and post WLS support plan that sounds interesting.

If you have ever heard good or bad I would be interested in your opinion.

Thanks,

Meta
