Nervous
I didn't think this day would come and now that its only 5 days away I'm so nervous. I mean I've had 2 c-sections and an appendectomy so Its not my first Surgery but I' so nervous. What should I bring to the Hospital? I'm having the lap-band so if everything goes right not overnight stay. I'll bring a robe and slippers for walking post-op. Any anymore suggestions?

If you've had 2 c-sections the lapband should be cake. I had the gastric by-pass, but before that the year before I ended up with a bowel resection, and while the by-pass was uncomfortable, it was nothin in comparison to the resection. Nervous is ok though, keeps you on your toes and motivated. Maybe it's more excitement than nerves. I'll tell you, this surgery was the absolute best thing that I've ever decided to do in my life! Because of the anesthesia and stuff, you don't really feel like doing anything, so I wouldn't bring anything more than some fun magazines, or an interesting book (I prefer books on tape myself). You might want to bring mouthwash, or those breath strips. Your mouth has that pastey yuck feeling after surgery. I also brought my own horseshoe neck pillow, I found it really made a difference in the comfort level. Good luck! Congrats on the beginning of your new life! Pam
I didn't bring anything to the hospital. Just my medical card. If I needed anything a family member would have taken it to me, but I didn't. I ended up staying 2 days. I was really nervous. I was never in a hospital before. The hospital staff were wonderful. Dr. Roye was always around. You'll do fine. Nancy
