I would consult with a nutritionist to get you back on track.  RI Hospital has a great team and they work hand in hand with Dr Roye.  I would definately start there.  They will go through how you should be eating and what. Hope this helps

When was your last visit with Dr. Roye and what has he said? I think you need to see Dr. Roye first then make your way back to the nutritionist.  Your surgery was 3 years ago...how much did you loose, have you atleast maintained that? A big question you're going to be asked is what have you been eating and how much have you been exercising?   Good luck!

Hello Board. This is not really a reply but this is my first time on here and I am not seeing where Ican just post a question. LOL. Sorry! I am looking for advice and information. I am 29yo and my BMI is 38-39 depends on the week. I don't get a period ever. I have high blood pressure, depression and high cholesterol as well as lower back pain. I have been to a group/support meeting which I found very interesting.  I aslo have been to the RWMC Weight Loss Information Seminar.  I Love Dr. Giovanni. But getting back to my question....I saw my PCP today and was basically told that he would not refer me out because I don't look like my weight.  So I am in the need of a new PCP. Please if you have any suggestions I would love to hear from you. Thanks again! Ashley

Ashley, welcome to the board.  New topics can be posted by clicking "new" above all the current topics- on the top left.   I would refer you to my PCP- love him to death, but he is not accepting any new patients.  Why not check with your insurance to see if they have a physician refferal service.  A lot of times you can specify certain criteria (though I am pretty certain, "one who will help me get approved for WLS is not one"- lol)   Also maybe check with Dr Giovanni's office to see if they may have a PCP to recommend for you.  As great as my PCP is, I am his first lapband patient, and am sometimes uncomfortable that I know more about it then him.  Maybe they would know a PCP who has had several patients go through either procedures, and be familair with them. Just because you don't look like your weight is no reason.  Even my husband was shocked when he found out what I weighed before surgery- and he has seen me naked- no stuffing things in shapeware there.  If you have co-morbidities, and are a good candidate for surgery..

I agree with the above posts. Check with a nutrionist and your surgeon. I'm not on the 'other side' yet so I can't really give personally advice but from what I've seen for suggestions on these forums. That's what I would do if/when I get to that point. ASHLEY.....Choosing your new PCP also depends on what insurance you have. Perhaps calling your insurance company will help in your search for a new one. I'm sure they'll be able to help you. Good Luck to you! Jules
