Hi All,

My family & friends know my talent for spouting off silly little poems and songs about whatever is going on around me so why should WLS be any different?  Here's one I posted on my blog the other day.  I call it:

Crossing My Fingers

Crossing my fingers & holding my breath
Trying not to worry myself to death
It is out of my hands; I don't know my fate
I thank God I have an understanding mate

The labwork is done & the visits went fine
the packet is together and will be submitted on time
I want to be positive & correct my vice
I believe in my Doctor and his wife is so nice

So - I stare at the screen and try to digest
that someday my tummy won't stick out further than my chest

I like this one!  Another little ditty by Jennifer Moussa who has finished her pre-op appts.

Hope y'all get a chuckle from that one.  I have another one on my blog but it is a little sad & a little silly.  Let me know what ya think......or then again.......

All my life as an adult atleast, i was told, you would be perfect if....
You have such a pretty face, ther rest of you is,, well... a beast.
Qualifiers  qualifiers,  qualifiers abound.....validation, just not found

Thin thin thin they shout, Your're too fat, Throw her out......

I am now much smaller but, still the same me....You judged me once

        no more.....

                                     Now , I am FREE.

Maybe an artical that is more of a graph showing the stages of the post op diet. And real simple ways to eat. Like not needing 40 different things to put in one dish where it would end up costing more to make the meal than to just eat out.

Janet - If you do this article and need someone who suffers from this, please feel free to contact me.  Or if you decide not to write it, I would be more then willing!

Prior to the holidays I asked friends to join me in losing weight for 60 days and then donate a pound of food or one dollar for every pound lost to the local Food Bank. Needless to say we contributed 200 lbs of food to those in need at Christmas.
Of course I'm still losing weight but I offered a second challenge between (after the holidays) Jan. 2nd and February 28th where we will lose weight collectively and donate the food/money this time to the local Senior Center.
Not to leave anyone out, I have extended the challenge to those that need to ADD weight to do the same for every pound added.
Pay it forward friends...you too can do this with your friends and help the less fortunate as well all get healthier!
I need to mention here that this is done on the honor system so no one needs to know the others' beginning and ending weights. While I may be public about my RnY and weight loss I respect the privacy of others.
