What does your doctor's plan say about popcorn? You need to follow what your doctor says, they are all a little different. You are very early out, I wouldn't do popcorn that early! It isn't fun when you eat something your pouch doesn't like and you throw it up, it is very uncomfortable. Good luck to you.

I was able to tolerate it at 10 weeks...

Before the surgery I kept putting things off. I was never good enough. One of the benefits of WLS is that you start to believe in yourself. Check out my blog:

My plan was ok after I was released to eat regular food after 6 weeks.  Check with your Drs office or NUT.

The kernels can be a bit rough on your stomach, better to wait til the 6-8 week point. You don't want to do any damage!

I've always thought popcorn could be a little rough on the stomach that is normal. So I imagine it would be harder on a pouch.  I haven't had any yet and I'm about 6 weeks.

Stick to your doctor's plan. At only 16 days post op, your stomach is still in a healing mode. I would be very careful with popcorn.

Think of your new digestive system like a 'new baby'....I know you wouldn't feed popcorn to a 16 day old baby

Go slow.....let yourself heal.

I'll be honest, a few weeks after surgery I wanted popcorn SO EFFING BAD!!!! But my plan didn't include it, so I (and this is kinda gross) chewed a few pieces and spit them back out. I did that a few times and never had any issues.

If your doctor's plan does not specifically clear you for popcorn (or all foods) at this point, then, no.  Popcorn can be hard on the digestive system (not just the pouch).
