Can you develop strictures after 3.5 years? or is it hiatal hernia?
I had an CT done in June 2014 because of car accident, they noted that I had mild hiatal hernia. My surgeon said I didn't have that back in 2011 when I had bypass done.
Sometimes after eating, food would come back up accompanied by chest pain but doesn't last long.
What do you think it could be?
I will put in an email to my surgeon and ask.
I just had my R&Y done last Tuesday. My Dr. told me that I had a small Hiatal Hernia and he doesn't do anything to repair them unless they are really big and troublesome. Also, they say about 40% of people have these. My Mother had a really large one, and depended upon what she ate woud it give her problems. I have also heard that its easier to live with it than to have it repaired.
You can develop a hiatal hernia at any time. I don't know about strictures.
