Pickles
Are pickles okay to eat after RNY? I am 4.5 mos post op. I can't find them in a list anywhere, and when I looked at the ingredients, the 2nd ingrdient is high fructose corn syrup....but guessing that is just the "juice'. I have not eaten anything with regular sugar-have only had items with Stevia or Splenda so no idea if I dump (and not eager to find out). Is it likely pickles would cause a problem?
I think pickles would be fine at this point in your post op diet. However, I would stay away from bread and butter pickles or anything with sugar in them. While there isn't a lot of sugar in them, you don't want to get in the habit of eating the ones with sugar as it can impeded your weight loss.

I'm 8 months out and find that pickles and cucumbers are hard for me. The skin is tough and I need to chew the hell out of them or I have problems. But I never say no to a bite of a pickle!

NSA (no sugar added-that includes corn syrup) pickles or some that have very little sugar is a great addition to my diet.
I had weeks I crave them - probably when my sodium is low. They really help when I deal with muscle cramps.
