DAY 2 - AMAW/CAMAW - post your menu here!
on 6/6/17 12:56 pm - GTA, Ontario, Canada
Maybe Grim should do a Webinar for us OHers on such topics as:
- Grilling meat
- Condiments versus food
- Animals are food not friends
- How to stock a freezer full of meat
- And what the freaking hell is a "steak tip!"
What else am I missing that we need his expert opinion on?
Good morning :)
Day 1 went well. Hardest part was not eating peanut butter when I was dishing out the puppies pain meds (I hide them in pb).
I found it interesting last night after dinner... I suddenly wanted something sweet. I ended up adding in an extra plain Greek yogurt with SF syrup mixed in. I find it hard having all savory things all day. I assume this is part of the carb cravings, so I'm hoping it will reduce over time.
Breakfast - Greek yogurt with SF syrup
Snack - turkey cheddar sausage
Lunch - ham with melted cheese
Snack - egg
Dinner - maybe chicken... I didn't get to it yesterday
Snack - ham, yogurt
All water and vits.

So glad Day 1 went well Meggles!
And I do the exact same thing with PB, dogs get all their pills in a tsp of PB! You know its werid, I loved PB pre surgery, now it does not seem to sit well in my pouch. I don't know why it just doesn't. Now if it was icing for a cake then all bets are off, I could eat that until I got sick LOL
So awesome you worked through the sweet craving and found an alternative for yourself and did not cave, that's a win girl! And yes in my opinion the "cravings" are you coming off carbs. Its sucks, takes a few days and then once you are over it you won't miss the carbs at all. Well that's just my opinion!
You are doing great and I look forward to your day 3 menu!
So funny about hiding the pain melds. The vet warned me that my dog might not like the meds, and I'd have to sneak them.
Nope.
my dog will only eat his breakfast if he sees me pour his medicine on it hahaha it took me a while to figure out! He'd just stare at it until I swirl the syringe around his dog bowl hahahah . What a weirdo!

One puppy is good but the other one is being a pain in the butt. I had to mash her pill in peanut butter and beef broth to get her to eat it today. With having knee surgery the little one is on three meds, about six times a day. Thankfully he is pretty good. I also have to ice his knee and he just lays there. Silly pup!!
MEAT- what a chore yesterday... hahah
i gizzarded myself out yesterday they have left the building, well not yet... miralax has yet to work.
Yesterday I had: gizzards, gizzards, turkey tail, coffee/prot powder, rotis chicken for dinner with a yogurt after yoga class. then evening snack was the rest of the gizzards and a little piece of ham. I did allow myself almond milk, and some whipped topping on a coffee I got. I suppose I could say it was made from cream which is from the cow so it counts. I won't try to justify the almond milk.
Today's menu: turkey tail/rotis chicken/ham. Need to make these amazingly thick pork chops I got but I think I will do that tomm and marinate them tonight. Or go ahead and make them tonight. I'm having a filling done in my mouth this afternoon so not really sure how I will feel about chewing a bunch of meat.
Exercise: not sure yet but probably won't be feeling good after filling so might take today off. I will be drugged up anyway so probably a bad idea. (I'm a VERY BAD patient who gags and has anxiety so they have to drug me).
Going on 18 months out on 15th June. weight 123 today, same as last 2 days.
