Yay for a Cubs game!
My Capstone is about an online diamond jeweler. It's interesting because the company needs to navigate both the legal and ethical landmines of the diamond industry, plus operating a global e-commerce site with many local regulations. I am at 22 pages today!
That sounds really interesting. My previous work in jewelry makes me intrigued to know more. Can I read it when you're done? I didn't think there were any ethical landmines of the diamond industry that are actually genuinely considered. I thought everybody complicit in blood diamonds, I'm looking at you De Beers, just didn't care about ethics. The big jewelry companies only pay attention and make a minimal effort if it will affect the bottom line. It doesn't seem it's for the good of the people involved.

Good morning everybody!
I'm driving in today thinking "who gets bloodwork at 7:00 AM on a Monday morning, right ?"
So, the closer we got to the hospital, the shorter the time that I had in my mind. I started off hoping that I could be in and out in 30 minutes for free parking. By the time I got to the parking lot I imagined a scenario by which I could be in and out in 10 minutes: 2 minutes to walk in, one minute of registration, 5 minutes for the 12 vials and two minutes to walk out.
Well, actually quite a few people get bloodwork at 7:00 on a Monday morning. I walked in, took number 50, sat down, and a few minutes later they called 26. All in all, I was there for 84 minutes. But at least it's done.
QOTD: I downloaded the app for the American Heart Association walk that is taking place September 22. I am a team captain.
Breakfast: Protein Bar
Lunch: Steak
Dinner: TBD
Have a great day, all!

I never go for blood work first thing in the morning. Because they ask for fast a lot of people do the same and show up first thing in the morning. If you go around 10:00-11:00 it's easy in and out. And if coffee is a factor, black coffee doesn't break the fast. Ask, but I think they would be OK with black coffee.

That's a good point about the fast. I was thinking more along the lines getting there on my way into the office, but I bet you are right.

84 minutes.???? ouch...
Ugh. There are advantages of living in smaller towns. Last time I needed blood work, I even did not have an appointmnent (I forgot to make one) and with my doc appointmnet on Wednesday, I really needed blood work on Monday. Before 8am (hormonal testing). I was done in 15 min.
