What's on your Tuesday Menu?

Good Morning! It's a snow day here! The expected totals have changed 100 times in the last 24 hours. At one point we were supposed to get over 14" but now we are down to 6". Either way, we are hunkered down and not planning to leave today.

I have a phone call with my new boss today, and I plan to get a lot of organizational things done around the house, but that's about it. Now that cookie stuff has winded down, I really don't have enough to keep me busy. I might do some virtual museum tours or something since we are stuck inside.

QOTD: What's your most memorable Valentine's Day? My high school had a Valentine's Day fundraiser that was a lot like the scene in Mean Girls when they gave each other carnations that were given out publicly in class. I totally remember the anxiety of wondering if I would get a carnation, who else would get them, and the pressure of who to give them to. One year I gave a carnation to the boy I was dating and it wasn't reciprocated, and I almost DIED of embarrassment. He was just a dumb boy who didn't know how social conventions worked, but it was social death to my 14 year old self. God, HS was so stressful. In more fun memories, Grim and I shared our first Valentine's Day at a steak house :)

Accountability: Given how much utter crap is in this house, my menu could have been a lot worse. We have a room off the garage that we don't heat when we aren't using it, and I put the snacks that were tempting me the most out there, so that I wouldn't keep grabbing them. That worked pretty well. But we have enough pizza to feed an army. Seriously, an army. I'll try to be decent!

Good mornin y'all!

Not a lot happening today. We do need to get a prescription for my mom at Walmart but that's the only thing set in stone. I got my feeling hurt once again for my birthday...you'd think I'd expect it by now. My mom went on about how I always get the shaft every year for both Christmas and my birthday but yet here we are, again. I did at least get a gift from my boss, a gift card to Amazon. My mom promised to give me money but I'll believe it when I see it. I try to not have expectations but after how she does literally everyone else I can't help but have some and they are always smashed like a bug. Now that I've wrote it down time to move on.

I did get a particular bracelet done and it a pretty one. It's a finicky one that I had to alter from the original tutorial but it's very striking. Will post at the bottom.

QOTD: the only V-day gift I've gotten is a box of chocolates from my grandpa. It was the best and sweetest. I miss him a lot.

B: eggs, cheese and coffee x 2

L: thinking enchiladas from the freezer

D: no idea

What a beautiful bracelet, you are so talented Mel!

I'm so sorry about your birthday. I know how it goes my birthday is January 5th so I always got the Christmas/Birthday gift. And one time my ex-husband bought himself a gift and didn't even bother to get me a card.

Good morning all, and happy snow day. It looks like I'm just hanging around, waiting for the right window to go out and shovel.

QOTD: Yeesh. In grade school we were required to bring in a valentine's card for all the girls in the class, and vice versa. Who the hell came up with that, anyway? Good God. We made no plans this year. JB is off early tomorrow to take her mother for her eye surgery. The plan has changed several times. Originally it was a later appointment and she was staying over. So there may be no plan at all.

Hey - some of us loved V-Day in elementary school! We didn't have any requirements on who to bring V-Day cards to, though - although I did one for everyone in the class, boys and girls.

Be careful shoveling with those new knees. Stay warm.
