Well hello everyone! Yesterday, I actually forgot that it was Monday! We had a mid-day get-together with friends yesterday so it just felt like a weekend. And then later, when I tried to get on by my phone, OH wouldn't load. Sigh.

We had way too much food at our little party yesterday. Grim made pizzas and Stromboli and despite everyone taking some home, we still have a ton left. I froze a lot of it and later this morning I need to gather the courage to throw away all the other crap like chips and desserts.

The party was fun, though--guests were old friends of the family and one of them was telling hilarious stories of the debauchery she got into here as a kid. Apparently her first serious make out session happened on our dryer down in the basement when she was 14, haha.

In less fun news, I am still in Verizon hell. I paid a lot of money to get it rushed here by Friday and it's still not here. It needs a signature, so I am basically stuck here until it comes because I am not missing it for any fault of my own, dammit. I am steeling myself to call Verizon later today and get my rush delivery money back.

QOTD: Is it hard for you get a doctor's appointment when you need it? I'm 2 weeks away from new health insurance (YAAAAAAAY) and for the first time in 25 years I am going to choose a new doctor. I've loved my doctor's practice because appointments are so easy to get and the building had all the specialists so the whole experience was easy. I am happy to change to a new practice that is much closer and more convenient, but I am worried about finding a practice where you can actually be seen. There've been a lot of news articles lately about how hard it is to get an appointment lately, so I am a little worried.

I don't know if you would want to consider it but if I need to leave while something is requiring a signature, I re route it to the UPS store or the FedEx Kinkos, and they can hold it until I can come In and sign. If you HAVE to leave, it might be an option---and you do it through the carrier not through Verizon.

Today is going to be a long day, tough early morning meeting, 9 hour training and then a team dinner and prepping for a 4 hour tough meeting tomorrow. But I do get to go home tomorrow night so yay?

qotd - yes, no issues at all. They are great but it's a small practice, just two doctors and their office manager.

Workout is done for the day and I'm heading down for breakfast now.

coffee plus powdered creamer X 2 and then more coffee at the office

Egg, toast, bacon

almonds and cheese sticks

We're going to a seafood place so my options will be limited, either chicken piccata or filet with asparagus.

have a great day!

I would think a seafood place would have lots of options. Unless it is all fried. Or you are allergic.

I cannot WAIT to leave Verizon. I still ow me on my phone so I need ATT to offer a partial buyout. I'm so sorry. So frustrating!

QOTD: yes! However my company pays for me to have OneMedical (Amazon bought them 1.5 years ago). For $199 a year you get concierge medical service. Many appointments at their dc locations every day, no waiting at offices, lots of virtual telehealth, and it's all done via the app. Requesting prescription refills or paying bills or booking appts - all on the app. It's so easy and wonderful. It sucks that it's just for people who can pay money to have good service. But they take all insurances and really just operate like a tech-driven healthcare company.

I am so glad you can have your knee looked at in two weeks!!

I'm off to the gym in a few. I have a ton of short meetings today so it will be nice to start the day with a clear head.
B: leftover chicken and toum and a bit of rice from a birthday dinner at a Lebanese place on Saturday.
L: spinach and feta turkey sausage or smoked chicken thigh, both are cooked and in the fridge

D: a meal kit arrives today so I'll see what of the menu items I want to cook!

Good morning, everybody!

I'm off to 6:30 Crossfit, a little final packing, shower and to the airport. Our flight doesn't leave until about 11:30, but we want to park in economy, so leaving some extra time to get to the terminal.

Good workout yesterday:

5 rounds

In 2 minutes, row 250 meters than maximum pull-ups. Rest 2 minutes

I got through 29 pull-ups. Couldn't get 6 the last round. Definitely a reminder to row with my legs.

I got the work project done, so I don't have it hanging over me while I am in California. Very excited about that. Dinner with Lisa and Roger tonight and sitting by our fire pit at the hotel. The weather forecast seems to be warming a bit.

QOTD: The will is there, but some doctors are extremely booked up. I try not to cancel if at all possible.

Not sure about food, except dinner will be yummy.

Have a great day, all!

Good mornin y'all!

Yesterday ended up being far better than I thought it'd be! The first plumbers finally called back, after my mom had to call them btw, and said it'd be March 11th until they could send an actual plumber out. Heck no! So we called a plumbing company we've used in he past. Which, we found out, requires EVERY technician to be a licensed and bonded plumber. They happened to have a cancellation so they'd be here at 2-5. They showed up around 2:30. By 4 everything was done. All he had to do was route out the line from the clean out in the backyard to inside the house. The other company wanted to cut into the main stack...do this or that. So for 320 we got it all done and guaranteed. In the process of talking with the plumber we also found out he redos old cars. We happen to have a 1970 ford maverick in one of our sheds. We have to get rid of it sooner than later. We'll probably give it to him as he'll haul it off. We'd of paid more for that than we could sell it for or pay to have it hauled off. So relieved it's fixed. Grim was right when he said it should be an easy fix! The other company just had us freaking out. The toilet in the basement is from the 1920's he think and the stack is probably only 20 years younger.

other good news! They approved the ablation this time! I get it on March 1st, and I am so glad to have it settles so soon after the request. Yay!

other news. We're supposed to get a call this morning with an offer on our house. A company called yesterday, uncanny timing!!!, and wants to buy it for an investment property. Now...we told them we wouldn't be able to move for at least 2-4 months. But we are also probably going to get a low balled amount. Our house is valued without accounting for the basement for 170,000ish. Unfortunately due to our neighborhood out house is not worth as much as it could be and also the amount of work required...well it'll drop the value. I am betting on an offer of 100,000 to 120,000. Our next door neighbor is selling their house for 115,000 and it's less than 1000 square feet. So we might get more? We'll see the offer and go from there. We talked about renting a house. I looked in the neighborhood my brother lives in and the average pet deposit is manageable if we do sell the house. The price for rent would be doable. We'd have to sell or get rid of a lot of furniture as we'd be downsizing a lot. We have a bedroom set that was my grandmas we'd need to sell for sure and a china cabinet or two. Lots of movement very soon but like I said we'll see what the offer is.

sorry for the long post! Lots happened yesterday!

QOTD: it depends. If I'm willing to see an NP it doesn't take as long but sometimes it can take a long time to see my PCP. I get lucky at times because of cancelations and such. Overall I get seen or I can go to an urgent health clinic to be seen for acute things.

B: eggs and 2ozs of chicken...coffee x2

L: might be salmon or maybe a salad from Sam's

D: ?????

we need to go to Sam's today. I was lucky enough to get a late birthday gift of 30 dollars and sold a necklace to a cousin for 40(they tipped me 15 bucks as I only charged for supplies due to being good family lol). We need just a few things. We might also run to Walmart as I need coffee creamer and my mom needs bread. Money will be super tight for a month or two due to the plumbing issue.

have a great day everyone!
