What's on your Wednesday Menu?
Happy Hump Day Menuers. Boy did it get toasty in the scale house yesterday afternoon even with the A/C on. The trucks started coming in one after another and having to open the little window to get the info from them and then again to give them the ticket when they scaled out really sucked the hot air in. Today I made sure to wear a tank top instead of a t-shirt. I don't like to be sweaty or sticky.
Didn't do much when I got home excep****er the garden. I've been taking turmeric with bromelain again as my right thumb has been bothering me. That stuff really helps with joint pain and inflammation.
QOTD: What do you all take for pain? With all of us having WLS and we all know not to take NSAIDs due to the risk of ulcers and such I've turned to more holistic things and have found turmeric with added bromelain works pretty well. I will also do Epson salt soaks even if it is just my feet. I have also used Emu oil rubs on one of my knees.
B: coffee and 1/2 cup cottage cheese with 1/4 sliced strawberries
L: kale and butter lettuce salad
D: grilled pork burgers
30 minutes on the treadmill
Have a great day everyone!!!
on 6/25/25 5:10 am - Amarillo, TX
Good mornin everyone.
We got a lot accomplished yesterday. I got the TV stand put together. I could barely stand up after finishing it. I hurt so bad. Floor sitting is not for me! The thrift store wouldn't take out old recliner because it wasn't good enough. So we will place it out on the street side to be collected by the city tomorrow. They took everything else though. The front room is set up now and it is nice. We still have a cabinet/self thing we want to get rid of so we'll work on that after we both feel better.
I have an appointment at 12:40 this afternoon. Other than that nothing much planned. Oh I forgot we'll be going to Walmart too. Yay lol. Hopefully we'll get that done this morning after 8am.
QOTD: I take T4's, lyrica and a muscle relaxer. I will use bio freeze pro sometimes. I got a tens unit from my physical therapist that helps somewhat. Really just to distract but it helps me relax too.
B: breakfast sandwich with cauliflower bun. Coffee
L: my mom likely wants to go to BK I may get one of the wraps.
D: will figure it out later.
Good morning, everybody!
Halfway through the week and just a few days until vacation. It's going to be a busy few though.
We are in that stage where we don't want to buy a lot of food because we are going to be away, but still have to get through a number of meals. Probably time to raid the freezer.
Things went pretty well yesterday, my car didn't need any work, just the oil changed. I had traditionally thought that I would get a new car in 2026, but I have been having second thoughts. Even though my car is 9 years old, it only has about 85,000 miles on it.
Plus, we will probably take Marilyn's Bronco down to Florida and leave mine in Illinois for half of the year. So I may only be putting a couple of thousand miles a year on it. That's all making me think that I should just keep it for a few more years.
QOTD: I don't take anything, really. It's quite possible that I am simply oblivious to how I feel.
Breakfast: Bagel
Lunch: catered
Dinner: Bratwurst
Have a great day, all!

Good Morning! Important to stay hydrated in the heat too, don't forget to add some extra water to the mix. I have a few meetings on the calendar for today and I need to do some training with my team too so overall should be a good day.
QOTD: I use tylenol when needed but sometimes I don't feel like it does much. I have used biofreeze in the past when I was dealing with my ankle issues. My chiro says a good soak (at least 40 mins) with a large amount of epsom salts keeps things in alignment. I rarely want to soak long enough for it to do much good but it still feels nice when I do.
Typical menu during the day and dinner will be shredded beef tacos (zero carb tortillas with smashed avocado), cauliflower rice and some of my apricot cobbler. Exercise done, water and vits are on track so far.
Keep smiling and speak nicely to yourselves today!
Hi! Hope everybody has a nice Wednesday. Hope today in the scale house goes well. It's so nice having a garden to come home to. Have to go on base again for the bloodwork that never happened last Friday. I'd better call out there to verify the hospital is open before driving 45 minutes for nada.
The grands were so much fun yesterday but wowie did it hurt. Pushing through paid off on the scale, knocked off a bunch of water weight and made it over the first 20#...21.5 lost in 4 1/2 weeks. It will settle way down of course but this was nice.
QOTD-Tylenol and occasionally some very old Canadian Tylenol, Arnica gel, CBD gel (In WA there is a coffee shop and a p*t shop on every corner, we so classy ) a mini tens unit, ice packs, heating pad, comfrey poultices and when things are really dire half or one of the precious saved BIG pain pills leftover from recent dental surgeries. I sure miss my Motrin, I recall it being a wonder drug but with ulcers...nope.
B-still not hungry but I'll make a shake to take with me to the base
L-probably nothing
D-a fake out ssam with fresh garden lettuce, chicken meatballs and kimchi.
I better get moving before I grow roots into this chair, the day after socializing I am always wiped out but having a reason to get going helps.
Hope your Hump Day is grand!

Congrats on the 20 pounds!
