What's on your Tuesday Menu?
Good Morning Gang. I ended up making a shepherd's pie for dinner and so that Irvin would have some leftovers as I didn't really do that much cooking this past weekend. I make mine with ground chicken and mashed sweet potatoes.
Back in the scale house for three days this week and then next week it is only two with Renee supposedly coming back on the 18th. Hopefully she does as there are three co-workers who have gone to the plant manager stating they are going to call HR if she gets another extension. Apparently two of them have pictures of her riding her trike and cutting wood. I guess she wanted the Summer off to do stuff.
QOTD: Would you rather waterski or downhill ski? So I have downhill skied before once and that was enough for me. I wouldn't mind trying waterskiing as long as it was in a large lake. I do like tubing though.
B: coffee and squash and eggs
L: shepherd's pie
D: salad with chicken salad on top
Swimming and treadmill at the Y.
Have a great day everyone!!!
Good morning, everybody!
I'm back home today. Yesterday was a 7:00 flight and the Triathlon was a 5:00 AM departure on Sunday, so I'm dragging this morning. Fortunately, today is WFH, so I can catch up a bit before I head back into the office on Wednesday and Thursday.
My older son and I are going fishing next Friday, Saturday and Sunday. I need to tie some grasshopper flies before I go, so that is on the agenda for tonight.
For the next three weeks I am going to only do one day a week of CrossFit, so that I can concentrate on preparing for the Chicago Triathlon, which is August 24th. It's a little longer distance than I am used to doing.
QOTD: Water Skiing I have only tried once but would like to give it another shot. The last time I went snow skiing, I felt like I was in danger of an injury.
Breakfast: bagel
Lunch: meatballs
Dinner: chili
Have a great day, all!

I remember many women in the plant where I worked taking their summer off by having some minor surgery done on their feet and then saying it was not healing and staying off wor****il their kids went back to school. One day they made a list of the 100 worst offenders of sick leave in the plant and 20 of them were in my department.
They had a union that backed them and in order to keep the job they had to have worked eight hours during the past 365 days. It was the last work day of the year and I had one guy who had not completed eight hours that year. He came to work that morning. At noon he came to my desk and had only worked four hours. He said, "you will be hearing from my doctor and my lawyer." He left and slammed the door.
Because he had not put in eight hours that year the union could not win his fight to keep his job and he was fired. This was a man in is 40s who was quite healthy.
I was always fascinated by downhill skiing. I love water but never waterskied and not sure why. My brothers had a boat and waterskis but it just seemed like something I would not be safe doing and I jus****ched the kids doing it.
There is a place in Pennsylvania that grows peaches called Chambersburg peaches. The soil there has to do with growing them. They are ripe from now until the end of August and I can't stop eating them. They have smooth skin like a nectarine and so much juice you have to hold a napkin under them to keep it from spilling on the floor.
Your shepherds pie sounds so good with mashed sweet potatoes. For the next few weeks I will eat a lot of tomatoes, cucumbers, zucchini, and corn on the cob. When I was growing up we lived off the garden in hot weather. No air conditioning then but always a great garden so not heating up the oven kept the house a lot cooler.
