Happy Thursday morning gang. Another rainy day here, but we need the rain and I would rather it be that than snow.

It would be great if those who lurk would join in on the thread. The more the merrier.

Not a lot planned today at work. Just have to confirm the count for the food truck next week. The guys are really excited about the Mexican food truck. Then I have to check the count for the two employee appreciation days at the end of October.

QOTD: What was your go to protein shake or powder after surgery? And do you still on occasion use it? For a ready to drink one it has always been Premier Protein. For a powdered one I used Isopure zero sugar. I still use them both and currently have some Premier Protein that the wonderful folks here at OH sent me.

B: coffee and protein shake

L: salad with chicken salad

D: chicken loaf and mashed sweet potatoes

I did find out that I am not very flexible when it comes to yoga. The instructor was nice enough to show me some stretches that might help me.

Have a great day everyone!!

Good mornin y'all. Sorry for miss in a lot this week.

we took momma to the rescue Monday. I bawled and bawled. Then finding out about Mary just put me down in the dumps. Dealing with what I am fairly certain is pneumonia or something close to it. Wheezing a lot. Over it all. I really wish I could've kept momma. She had become my baby in 3 short weeks. But it wasn't meant to be with our older cats,..who weigh twice her almost.

So I'm not feeling great.

i haven't been doing great with food but it could be way worse.

QOTD: PP. I also got a case of drinks that has come handy since I'm broke! They were chocolate whic is about my least favorite but i found a way to doctor it up to taste like a candy bar! I couldn't stomach many of the powders.

B: eggs, turkey sausage, cheese and coffee

L: shrimp and corn chowder

D: ????

my most favorite Star Wars meme.

Awe Mel I just want to give you a big hug. I know momma will find a good home and she's so much better off than living off the streets.

I add powdered PB to the chocolate shakes and I think they are so much better cold. Tastes like a reese's pb cup.

That meme is priceless.

I have used the pb powder in the past. The almond butter powder is good too!

I found skinny syrups has a wedding cake flavored one that makes the chocolate taste really good. I addd a drop of coconut extract and it tasted like a mounds candy bar.

thanks! I could actually really use a hug.

So sorry it didn't work out with Mama and your clowder. You taught her to love and be loved, what a special gift to her and whoever is lucky to get to adopt her from the rescue.

Tell, tell about how you doctor your shakes to taste like a candy bar please? I have to replace my bottle of fancy organic Chocolate Extract because I tried it in my shake one time and couldn't believe how it added a richness to my usual protein shake. All gone now, haha. May have to try the Maple-Walnut one next.

Those earrings are stunning and even though I haven't seen the Star Wars with Baby Yoda...it is so fun seeing ways people come up with recreating it or making memes. Bet those bagels have Matcha powder added.

PS...what brand of turkey sausage do you buy? I've tried Jennie-O, AmyLu and even used a WW copycat recipe for the Jimmy Dean seasoning and all have a weird taste that I can't identify but it is unpleasant. And I'm not a picky eater clearly when it has taken two weight loss surgeries and a medical diet aid to get my weight under control.

I use skinny syrups. It doesn't take very much but I love the chocolate shake with the wedding cake flavored syrup!

I found the jimmy dean ones at Sam's that are turkey. Not my absolute fav but better than any I've had so far. My absolute fav sausage is by applegate farms. It's maple chicken sausage. So so much better but a lot more pricier. I get one bag a month (almost 13 dollars) and try to make it last. 3 sausage links are a serving but I usually just have 2. They also have patties.

I have seen exactly one episode of the mandolorian because I was basically forced lol.

Happy Thursday! (Or Friday if your time zone is past midnight.) I agree with you that it would be fun if the lurkers would join in the chat. Sorry to hear that you aren't very flexible. Your instructor sounds like a gem.

A Mexican food truck sounds like a delicious idea. The Mexican half of my SIL's family are all amazing cooks and have pretty much ruined restaurant food for me. One of these Autumn days i'm going to plan a cheat and eat refried beans for one of my protein meals. Its funny that after 4 months on these meds i'm back to watching the nutrition data on recipes and grocery store foods. Your chicken loaf sounds delicious, I'm going to nosy around the web and see if I can find a recipe for it.

12/06 is my 19th surgiversary and protein powders and RTU's were so different then! We regularly got free samples at our support group meetings. The only RTU I recall was Isopure in the glass bottles, no powders. You had to be pretty desperate to quickly boost your protein to drink them back then. There were even expensive, jellied protein 'shots' that were around 40 grams. I mostly used Whichever chocolate whey protein was the best price at Costco and learned how to make a tasty, filling milkshake that I could sip from 4a.m. till around 11 when we had lunch at work. When winter came around I had to figure out how to make something warm...that was difficult because you can't put mix those traditional whey protein powders with hot coffee...Lump City. And in the blender: Foam City. But then I found Click protein that had a java version and was designed to mix smoothly in ho****er. During this round of dieting the options are amazing! The only pre-packaged one that is yuck is the Nuri chocolate. Vanilla and strawberry are great. I also love the Premiere Protein chocolate, caramel is ok. Probably the best tasting is the Fairlife chocolate. It was so nice to get the case of Premiere Protein as a gift from OH. My sister has a Ninja ice cream maker and says it is really yummy to take RTU shakes and make ice cream.

Haven't eaten very smart today, slept good last night but after I'd woken up I fell straight asleep and slept till nearly 11. Hubby was ticked, I think.

B: My choc protein/collagen shake. I always forget to mention that it has a healthy tablespoon of instant espresso powder added in.

L: water

D: sautee'd yellow squash.

Going to have to drink a PP to get my protein up to at least 60 g for the day. Must do better, still no appetite.
